Reality Check

I stopped buying into things like the serenity prayer when my IQ reached 153 at around the age of 10.
Ummm..., don't mean to burst anyone's bubbles but if you're still putting faith in that you'd be better off believing in Santa Clause..

Please.., anyone who's ever picked up a newspaper knows that IQ tests are completely bogus and always have been. They were created by eugenicists as a tool to stigmatize and trick those they deemed undesirable into believing their options were limited while advancing the others they deemed more fit than the rest of society and thus we have folks like yourself to contend with Kevin. (The other guy was entertaining even if it wasn't intentional, I truly enjoyed his rants but the IQ myth has to be explained at some point.)

I've never been measured ... so I have no I.Q.
My wife tells me that all the time, so it must be true. I'm also a burden to her ... she tells me that too.
:^)
btw ... how are options limited? What job asks for your I.Q.? ("Sorry, only 130 and above need apply!")
Physicians become physicians because they can pass the tests, not because of some I.Q. ... that's how options get limited.
It's not "Oh Johnny, I know you're only 5, but we've deemed you stupid. We're going to school you for grunt work."
If Johnny succeeds, it will stand outside of whatever his I.Q. is and whatever anyone says. It's up to Johnny to determine to what level Johnny wants to rise. If he's smart, he'll go further. If he's not, he won't ... but no job or no school is going to treat him differently because of some number that attempted to identify intelligence ... for we all know there are different kinds of intelligence ...
... and wherever we apply our talents, our talents will take us as far as we can go.
Music business, of course, excepted.

Tests for the most part are flawed. I am currently studying for the CMA exam (Certified Management Accountant). There are multiple choice questions as well as essays. The multiple choice questions are framed, often times to "trick" you...with a phrase here or there with an answer choice that corresponds to the trickery. Not sure why the framers feel the need to do this, in practice I am not presented a problem that is set up to trick and mislead. You either know the concepts and possess the skills to solve the problem or you don't. The test is also set up under strict time constraints. On average you cannot spend more then a minute on each question. Some questions take that long just to read, let alone perform the calculations. Again, in practice I am under no such time constraint, as the goal is to get the correct answer even if I need to take a few days. Of course It never takes that long, but the point is there is no one at my office door with a stop watch asking for a recommendation or a solution.
Anyway, as far as IQ......I have found through experience that in life I am an absolute genius in some areas while being a complete retard in others. I believe that makes me a well rounded, grounded person. :)
