Not sure, but my brand-new song was added on its first day on IAC. So my theory that it's lots of plays (and station adds) over time has gone out the window.

And, thank you IAC for the honor.

I think that it does have to get a certain number of plays in a short time to get the attention, but then I think that the staff has to deem it "hitworthy" or something like that.

At any rate... thanks again, IAC.

Not sure if they are deemed "Hitworthy" ...it just leaves an impression on whoever, or whomever is charged to select the songs to be included. It does help to be a known commodity tho....it drives them to listen to the song in the first place. I don't think number of plays or station adds has anything to do with it. I don't think there is a method to the madness :)
