Jail, Hand Guns and Grazing of Brains- It must be The Logs!
The songs are not great but they are entertaining and most importantly , they are brief. The Logs have built their entire recording career on a simple production method. "Keep the songs short, move things around allot, and stick a screaming guitar solo in the middle. All within 3 minutes or so." Not exactly poetry but it stands as a creed. The idea behind "The Logs Sound" as people close to the band call it, is that the average listener of rock music has a very short attention span. They may hate the first five seconds of a tune, lose concentration for a split second, like what they hear a second later and on and on. The beauty of this is that it takes a really, really bad song to actually get rock fans to turn away and flip off the music in disgust.

Not that the Logs haven't tried to achieve this reaction. Some of the older stuff will be released next spring on a poorly conceived project called "Back-Log". This hackneyed idea of releasing ten songs that were not even good enough to qualify for The Logs meager standards sort of went out of style a few years back. Leave it to The Logs to do what they can to drive popular culture deeper into the tar pit.

On a positive note, The Logs newest release "Old Lady On The Second Floor" is actually pretty fun. The band rediscovers it's early nineties roots with the classic LOGS lineup. That's right, in a surprise move that shocked the second floor of her building, Sara Leeds agreed to put the past behind her and return to The Logs. You may remember that during the Logs tour in support of "Gentle Psycho", which can only be described as "painfully unpleasant" Sara Leeds and Jail (drums, no known last name) finally decided to confront each other on some very old issues. Unfortunately for both, the decided to confront each other in front of seventy-nine Michigan State Police officers and they used handguns! Jail was subdued by long suffering roadie, Mal Nokak who threw his back out in the process. Sara, as you will remember, actually got a shot off which luckily only grazed Jail's brain which was fortunately not present at the time of the shooting.

But that was yesterday! Now with the amazing Sara Leeds back on bass and all retraining orders rescinded, the band can get back to doing what it does best; making mediocre, seemingly randomly produced rock singles.

The Logs Roll On!!!! Long Live The Logs!
