USA Today To Premiere Seth Glier's "Walk Katie Home" Music Video
MPress Records & USA Today are thrilled to premiere the official music video for singer-songwriter Seth Glier's new single "Walk Katie Home" from his critically acclaimed album THE NEXT RIGHT THING (MPress, 2011).
The video was created by award-winning director, photographer & visionary Tom Moore, who also shot the cover image for Seth's record and has worked with Williem DaFoe, Bebe Neuwirth, Quentin Crisp, Ed Asner & Gloria Gaynor, among others.
Shot on a freezing cold day this past March at the strikingly beautiful Beacon Theatre in Beacon, NY - which was undergoing a complete restoration - the video boasts grand sweeping images of the gorgeous theatre mixed with shots of NYC, the second character in this unabashedly romantic and tender love song. Featuring Seth Glier and his love interest "Katie" played by up-and-coming actress Carissa Dagenais, the emotion of the video was heightened by Glier's visible breath in the performance shots at the ice-cold theatre (which is real, not added in post-production).
With a plethora of behind-the-scenes footage & still images, Seth put together some fun teasers for the video which you can see on his YouTube channel. The teasers document the freezing good times they had during the shoot.
As part of his robust summer tour schedule, Seth is currently on tour in the Northeast with singer songwriter Edwin McCain, who launched a thousand weddings (courtesy of his Top 5 single “I’ll Be”). Glier will also be hitting the road for a few dates with Toad the Wet Sprocket, later this summer. Full tour dates listed below or at sethglier.com

About Seth Glier:
"The greatest pop songwriting since Billy Joel." - Livingston Taylor
Seth Glier will grab you...if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his “intoxicating groove.” The 22-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist – who abandoned studies at The Berklee College of Music after one year because he “decided I should be playing for people and not for grades” – aims straight for the gut & has quickly established himself on the national scene performing over 250 shows a year.
In 2010, Glier shared stages with such diverse artists as James Taylor, Mark Knopfler, The Verve Pipe, and Edwin McCain. He has appeared as a main stage artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY) and the Kerrville Folk Festival (TX). USA Today recently compared Seth to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel and recommended his track “Lauralee” on their “Listen Up Playlist” (Feb 2011).
The only musical member of his family, Seth was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton and Randy Newman, but considers his brother to be his greatest influence. “My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them.” Maybe the term ‘old soul’ has meaning after all…
