“HONKY TONK HEAVEN” IS TOP 10 IN TEXAS –PRESS RELEASE-
LONESTAR STATE’S JASON CASSIDY’S “HONKY TONK HEAVEN” IS TOP 10 IN TEXAS
50+ STATIONS PLAYING FIRST SINGLE FROM MONTGOMERY, TX-BORN SONGWRITER’S AUGUST DEBUT, ‘MY REDEMPTION’.
Songwriter/performer Jason Cassidy’s newest single, “Honky Tonk Heaven “, hits the Top 10 on the Best in Texas Music Chart, this week. The 6-foot-tall Texan describes his sound as traditional country “and honky-tonk with an edge”, and radio seems to love it – over 60 radio stations are playing the track, and every week for the last 8 weeks, it’s jumped its way up the charts. “Honky Tonk Heaven” is from Cassidy’s debut album release, MY REDEMPTION (August 30), on Houston-based A-Blake Records.
Jason Cassidy grew up in Montgomery, TX working side by side with his daddy building muscle cars and hot rods. A 1961 impala bubble top he built has appeared in several magazines and made the "good guys" monthly issue about six times. Inspired by a buddy who could name every country tune as soon as it came on the radio, the competitive Cassidy started listening. “I totally fell in love with it and learned every single song,” he recalls. Before long, he was fronting a popular Houston-area country cover act. Just a short while later, he was on his own.
An affable guy, the 6-foot-tall Texan, Cassidy whose voice scales from a resonant baritone to a melodic high tenor, could go lyric-for-lyric with any Nashville word-slinger. And right now, Cassidy isn’t waiting for much. He’s been playing shows like crazy, breaking attendance records and burning it up on stage with a band that is as good as it gets: On fiddle is Scott "Skittle" Johnson who toured with Charlie Daniels (when he was all of 17!) , played with Vince Gill, Clint Black, John Rich, Asleep at the Wheel and many others; on guitar is Scott Dixon who played lead with Neil McCoy for 11 years; on drums is Casey Korkmas who has played with JB and the Moonshine Band, Beck and Cauthen; and on bass is super-up-and comer Jacob DeLott. Jason calls them the Angel Band because, as he told Fox news, "God brought us together"!
Look for him all over Texas this month, on the biggest radio stations and playing shows:
