Diamond Ring and REM -Wonderful ! :)
These 2 are so far up the easy listening MOR spectrum -but i just love their charming little melodic hearts to bits

The was a song by the Move that I would always request at weddings and parties because everyone loved to sing Bi Dum Bi Dum Bi Bum
Same with Agadoo by Black Lace which was awful but always got people hopping
And Joe Dolce - Shaddap you face was an unlikely fave too
Actually I'm not quite sure what this thread is about, more explanation needed please.

Well this will date me but I still adore this song which I remember hearing on my mum's old radiogram as I grew up. The song is timeless and has been covered by endless artists.
The tune itself weaves from key to key seamlessly and the lyrics are universal. Classic.

And, of course there are those songs that are sung in a language that I do not understand.
I cannot think of a more beautiful voice than that of Cesaria Evora. And this is one of my favorite songs of hers. So beautiful:

Cry Me A River - a classic - I think that Barney Kessel's guitar track on that is just perfection. Also so glad to learn of those Brazilian artists - Cesaria Evora - wow, beautiful ....

Tom Zé is Brazilian. One of my favorite artists of all-time.
Cesaria Evora is actually from Cape Verde, off the western coast of Africa. However, thanks to European colonialism, they speak Portuguese there, too. So it's an easy mistake to make.
Tom Zé is still kicking, still making brilliant music, as he approached 80 years old.
Cesaria Evora, unfortunately, died about 5 years ago.
But both of them have plenty of recorded music out there to dig into, if you like what you heard.
