What would you do if you had a time machine?
I'd go to Yankee Stadium in 1927 to see Babe Ruth.
I'd visit Roswell in 1947.
I'd follow the Beatles to every show they ever did.
I'd go to Dealey Plaza and check out what happened there.
I'd watch myself being born (in a black sedan)
I'd revisit various sexual adventures I had.

Read Stephen King's Book titled: "11/22/63" and you'll see why it would not be a good idea to try and change history. It's a mind bender!

You were born in a black sedan? Were you told that or do you remember?

revisting the past as yourself from the future = impossible
If you did it, it would have already happened, and you're doing it would have been a part of that. Want to change that? No. You already did it. So, that was what happened when you did it. It's over. You can't go back and revise it. Because...you didn't.

I would travel to the future, both near and distant, return and write a tell all.
(Assuming, of course, I am the only one in possession of time machine.

I was thinking of some other things I might do. Like go back and get my comic collection before it was sold out from under me.
I think I'd go back and play baseball in my backyard with my friends too.

In Stephen King's book someone goes back in time to try and prevent the killing of JFK. His attempts screw up several time lines that cause major changes in other major historic events. The moral: Don't fuck with time!

I'd go to Central Park West & 72nd St in NYC on the night of December 8, 1980. There, I would proceed to beat Mark David Chapman to death even if it meant taking several bullets that in the original timeline ended up in John Lennon. I'd get killed or I'd go to jail, but I'd save the life of the greatest rock musician ever. So I'd be okay with all that then. ~L

Well, that's a good idea. I suppose I could go back and find some way to get Kurt away from his murderess Courtney too.

The problem with having a time machine for the purpose of going back in time to kill people before they kill others would mean that you'd have to spend all your time killing people. And consider the possibility that potential killers could also go into the past to kill you before you kill them. Living in the past is depression. Living in the future is anxiety. Living in the present is now. Live in the now. It's the only safe harbor.
Time travel is a fun fantasy but a futile endeavor.
