When Musical Titans Collide :) (Lesley covers an FT song)
So anyway a few weeks ago Lesley vowed he wouldn't do any more covers. I forgot about this when I came across a song from my past catalogue that it immediately occurred to me, I wonder what a Lesley version of this song would sound like? So I wrote him and I have to think that the quality of these songs persuaded him. :) Anyway the songfiles I sent him were just me and guitar, from a concert I did I think in 2002, and the results were beyond what I ever expected. Now I'm asked a lot if folks can cover my songs, I'm not usually into it, but Lesley has such a deep talent, and the 2 songs I sent him I thought really fit what he does. So here's the first one, it's called Funny You Should Ask, and hearing the playback when I received in email put a big grin on my face.

Well you're right. It was exactly the quality of your songs that caused me to reconsider my vow not to cover anyone else's material. You my friend are a Great Songwriter.
I very much enjoyed doing this song. The band loved doing the other one,
and look forward to it's release also; we all do.
Up for more any time you are. We do fine work together, I think.

Lesley said 'don't talk about the other song too much yet till we put it out'
so I just wanna say we all had fun doing it, and we're game for more anytime then.

I'm sure Lesley did a great job of your song and I am happy that he did it for you even after he said he was not doing covers just because he likes your songs so well. I think that is great. Its also your decision who you allow to do your covers.
Maybe if you opened your mind and your doors further than a slight crack you might get some fresh air by others doing a different version of your songs but that is your choice.

I like all the versions of covers that Lesley has done for others here. He does a fantastic job. Because or that and that I also like your songs I will listen but I can't right now.

That was very good Lesley, you never disappoint, FT should seems very happy.
However, I think FT might have mentioned my own little spoof/collaboration of that song produced in July 2014, that got overlooked somehow.
