I gotta say, we do have the proverbial run for the money going on.
I just discovered----gosh what a treasure trove of talent we have here at IMP---
a really good band new to here, first I've heard of them anyway,
called "Sunny 'n' the Cut"... heard a song,
"My Heart Is Set On You", which really honestly impressed me.
That's some real bonafide talent going on there.
For anyone who would aspire to be "The Best Band In The World",
I see it as a thing with two basic stages.
Decide to be it. Then be it.
Like, you don't get there, if you don't try, to get there. It takes intent.
And that, in my humble opinion, is what folks don't get,
when they say I'm out of line saying we're the Best Band In The World...
I've decided we are that, so now, we'll go ahead and be that.
It wouldn't happen, if we didn't decide that, do you get it yet? Or no?
Well anyway,
here's the new one, from BEATLESEX....
between seven pm. and nine pm.
...we wrote this song, sang all the vocals...
and the rest of the tracks, done throughout the evening,
with a break for dinner, 'cause there was a hamburger I had in my sites
and it is so gone now...
we had it all done by about two in the morning,
and here we are putting it out...
sounds good, doesn't it.
Like I said, this here, is BEATLESEX,
BEATLESEX is me, and the two cats I channel
(and it's okay, if you don't believe, I channel these guys,
we don't care! I don't care, John don't care, George don't care, it's okay with us!)
And The Coming Of Age,
is all that, PLUS, Father Time.
We playing with a stacked deck? Well, gee, still comes down to
the effort you put into it, I think.

I think a number of Larree's musical comments here are more about a personality conflict with Lesley than actually apply to his music. And also Larree, you must remember, Lesley approaches virtually every artist here about collabing. btw I think he does that more than anything else because he is generous of spirit.

I totally take back any offer to collaborate with you, or cover your song,

And Pete Shotton, John's boyhood friend since age 5,
came to my home and saw that I really DO channel John Lennon.
That's Pete Shotton, original member of The Quarrymen,
he helped John form the band, and he introduced Paul to John.

communing with them, John, George, and to you,
that makes me a headcase and you then call me such.

Well I doubt you've heard most of our songs. That said I once saw a Grateful Dead concert and it was lame, the whole band wasn't on stage together for more than 2 songs the whole 3 hour show.

I have a hard time listening to a lot of ALJ. His style is just way too cliche for me. I like my music to be a lot more inventive and challenging. I guess that is why I was drawn to progressive rock in the early 70's, and always loved jazz and orchestral music more than most rock I heard. And I do love a lot of rock, but most of it is cliche shit musically.

thanking you all for your great and stellar work on it.
Yes, I know you don't remember playing on it,
that was a prerequisite by the space aliens who whisked you
over to my studio in the dead of night. You're not allowed to remember.
I posted it on the pipeline,
but due to some sort of computer glitch, it disappeared into thin air.
No one knows why.
I could re-do it, but I don't suppose that I will.
Anyway, I like to think as I prepare my exodus,
we part as friends...
