Is it worthwhile doing a full-length record anymore?
I wonder if it is?

I dunno about that, but it is worth if to me to buy and listen to one! (see The Anchor by Whitherward.)

The only reason I'm making them is because that's the way I like to listen. So, seeing as how I'm really just making the music for myself, that's what I'm gonna do.
So yeah, it's worth it. To me.

It’s just the way I look at the art.
But really it’s still the way most pros look at the art, too. They release albums even if there is no physical copy.
I love to make albums. Worthwhile? To me it’s one of my life’s greatest drives.
To others? Hard for me to know. Seems almost irrelevant to my drives.

Yeah, it is for me because i don't spend any money on production, musicians or engineeers. i do it all myself in my own facility. That makes it worth it for me. but if I was paying for studio time, well, that might be a different answer.

Both of my nephews are around 20yrs old and barely listen to a complete song much less an album. Their attention span equals a fly I think.
Course if you're after an older market, 10-12 song albums are traditional.
Maybe we should start a new trend of about 5-7 songs per?

Hi Mr. Flock!
Wow, you nailed that generation in a nutshell; many of them at least! I hate to over-generalize. Instant gratification/microwave/texting addicted. Many of them do not know how to look one in the eye and have a two sentence conversation with adults. They walk around with friends, not talking to them, but instead texting the ones they are not with. I wonder what the old folks said about me and my friends when we were young; lol?
The featured artist on my station is Whitherward. Interestingly, their first 4 CDs were EPs of either 6 or 7 songs. Their brand new album "The Anchor" is 13 songs and I will be nominating them for Golden Kayaks.
I also have one of your collaborations with Bryon Tosoff on my station; "lo ryders." I really, really like it and play it 18th of my 108 songs. I have written your name down to listen to your songs for my future stations. I am planning "Groovy Music Monsters Volume II" and also "Groovy Ambience" and "Groovy Romance."
Have a great day, sir! Mike
