The greatest day of my life was my date with Supergirl when we took my Maserati and drove to Tuscany and rolled around in the green hills. oh, wait, that didn't happen yet.

Gonna change this to coulda been my greatest day -- I was playing guitar for Bobby Vinton (ne Vintula) and ripped a respectable solo-He comes over and asks if I am Polish. Being slow of wit I replied NO--That was my last gig with BV

I like this turn to the " could have been the greatest day of my life "
Back in 1984, Joan Baez was to perform at Camp Fortune just north of Ottawa. Of course I had tickets for my then girlfriend and myself.
My girlfriend new the person who was going to drive Joan all day. She had this great idea to invite Joan for dinner through this person, and it sounded like it could get organized. I would have prepared a great vegetarian meal.
Never happened.
Of all the tings that had to happen, an old girlfriend was in town and decided to check up on me.
That got the new girlfriend all wound up and jealous and she walked out on me.
Now there was no dinner to prepare for Joan thus no " greatest day of my life "
Ended up going with the landlord's 14 year old daughter. Having never heard of Joan Baez, she was absolutely thrilled by the performance
The dinner with Joan was my loss, the performance by Joan was the daughter's gain.

Probably Sept 18th 1973. I came home from Vietnam. There was no parade or anything. Just a bunch of winey protesters exorcising their American Rights to protest. But it was good to be home and see my family again. I had concluded that I would probably never see them alive again. My unit (The River Rats) was losing people daily and it seemed like an early death for me was imminent. But I survived and made it home. That was a great day! Another day would be back in 2000 when I won my first international songwriting contest (Unisong International Songwriting Contest). It was the first time that I realized that my songwriting was good enough to be published. Plus, August 24 2004 I signed my first publishing deal. Then, most recently, (last year) I won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. that was a big day for me as I had been competing in that contest yearly for at least 10 years without a win. Quite a confidence booster for sure. Oh, and then there is the day I met my wife. That was the day that time stood still for me as I welcomed her into my life for eternity o at least as long we are alive.
Those were great days but the absolute best day of my life was in 1972 when my brother and I found our mother. She had been missing for 18 years and it was such a blessing to finally find her and be united with the rest of my family. After all those years of foster homes, child abuse, street gangs, drugs and sadness, it was good to finally solve the mystery of where my mother was. Dad had died many years before then. But he was missing before he died also. Seeing my mom for the first time in all those years was the biggest moment of my life. I cried like a baby huge tears of joy and thanks.
