soul situations
When I'm doing work projects for my business, I often feel like it's me against the universe. I give everything i've got with only a slim hope of success. Was just wondering if any of you have been in similar stages of your life where you felt a long period of time that was pressurized and you had to persevere?

Yes, many times I have faced situations like that. Probably the hardest was in Vietnam. I had men under my command and it was imperative to me to keep them alive while still accomplishing our missions. Later in life I found myself in the fast aced environment of the Silicon Valley and being a manager in start up companies is similar to war because at any time they could run out of money and the layoffs begin. I worked for Intel, Xerox, Maxtor and several other companies that became big tech players. But I was there in the beginning and it was a very humbling experience to witness the rise of the tech titans. At times it felt like the work was all I had in my life worth mentioning. The demand was relentless and I commuted 73 miles daily to work. On top of that. I worked on the weekends and some nights as a prison chaplain and was the lead vocalist for a touring gospel band. Yes, at times I felt like it was me against the universe. I did that for 33 years non stop. But then one day I came home from work, sat down on the couch and abruptly suffered a stroke. I was paralyzed on my left side for almost a whole year. But through hard work and martial arts I got almost everything back. Except for on some days when I am tired my left eye lid droops. Plus, my kicks on the left side are a bit weaker. But I can still hold my own in a match. The thing that always got me through pressurized situations is my ability to take time to personally reflect (meditate, prayer or whatever) and I had to learn how to delegate some things to others. It became quite evident that I needed help and so I learned how to use my resources (including people) to reach my goals. Not saying that that is what you need to do. just saying that that is what I did and it worked for me. Even in battle. Much Respect & Thanks For The great Job You Are Doing! Stoneman

I’ve never felt it was me against the universe but I came from a poor family and I did have to overcome some huge obstacles. Everything I have I had to earn the hard way. I’ve had my share of victories and losses and somehow they seemed to have balanced out. I guess I broke even and that will have to suffice. Lost dreams are not the end of the world. I have love and I have my music and that’s good enough.

Currently, we feel that way. We are betting everything we have on this musical project and yes there are days where we feel like an antz fighting with an elephant but if we continue there is the possibility of maybe with a lot of work and some luck getting something, if we give up the only thing we will get It is failure. Cheer up!
