More Huge News for IMP, DMDs now operational, please read, all..
Awhile back we invented something called a DMD. This is the digital version of the CD and no it's not just downloading a bunch of songs like on bandcamp. It's the natural progression from the 33 1/3 album, in that our DMD allows you to create an artistic product to sell online. It has been out of commission for a long time but now it is fully operational, works better than ever. Let me illustrate.
Basically you name your project, add songs to it, and then you can add linernotes, additional art, and we added something innovative called the Ultrapage which is the ultimate digital page for your album. Of course you also get a page to download the songs at whatever resolution they were uploaded at (we recommend 320 kbps)
Let me show you what a fully done ultrapage looks like. This is a mock, there's no real music associated with it, just some lyrics I wrote awhile back.
Here it is. Depending on the browser you might have to magnify it, cause it's so large it comes up shrunk on some browsers.
Anyway this is obviously the coolest way to deliver your CD/album projects, so I hope you take advantage. DMDs can only be found at indiemusicpeople.com

I forgot to mention, you can set up your DMD in the top left section of your artist area under Commerce.

This looks very cool and I'm excited to try it out.
Does this function allow the person viewing the DMD to purchase both individual tracks and album at once? Are they also able to download the art work from the album?
On cd baby I can set one price for the full album and a separate price for each song this allows some certain flexibility in pricing.
Also is the DMD considered a separate project away from sales on our artist page?.
Since I am triple c club I don't mind that any sales from my artist page goes to IMP but if I take the time to create a DMD I want the DMD sales from the DMD to go to me.
This looks like a great feature and I worked on my art last night and am finishing that up I have a couple tracks to fix but hope to release the album soon.

Yes they can download the art.
I think they have to buy the DMD individually.
You have a way to price the song and a way to price the DMD, they are separate.
Actually since your paypal is set to donate that is an issue. You should just change your paypal, we're not selling anything anyway as of yet, off the Triple C. Let me know if you do.

I can't just change my Paypal I only have one paypal account.
It seems to me that sales from DMD should be separate from sales of tracks on the artist page.

when I finish writing it! Funny thing about those lyrics, I wrote them on the spot, took me about 15 minutes total, it was like automatic writing, one after the next. Awhile later i looked at them and thought those really are pretty cool.
TSC, the issue is that you can only enter one paypal address for your page.

Somewhere, Aunt Betty is smiling at her successful communication from beyond! :)
She's always wanted someone, anyone, to tell-it-like-it-is!

That's disappointing Scott ,as I would like to participate in IMP Triple C club on my page and DMD sales not so much.

First off, the DMD was here for years, just needed fixed, it's not something we just dreamed up last week.
Secondly, the Triple C is just a beta project. I like what it's about but if we ditched it, it really wouldn't matter because we're making no sales. Here's an idea. Start a different page Two Silo Complex Album or whatever, you can put a different paypal on that and the problem is solved.

Hi Scott, I know that the DMD is not new its something that used to be on IAC I remember it there.
As I said I only have one paypal account and there is difficulties in creating a second one. Credit card information has to go through a verification process etc etc.
I had the same idea of another artist page and I was going to ask you about that.
So if I create a new artist page for the album I still have to have a separate paypal account?
Could I use the same paypal account and since its a different artist page?
It would seem to me that if its an entirely different artist page that the account information should be separate and that even if it was the same paypal account since the sale originated for the page that was not linked to the triple C club that that sale should go to my paypal account not be directed to something its not linked to.
I don't know a lot about programming but it seems to me that this is a simple if then else condition.
1st condition:
If sales originate from artist page "A" then direct proceeds to account "A" being IMP
2cond condition
If sales originate from site "B" then direct proceeds to account "B" B being my paypal account.
I don't know if such things are possible or not.
If you could look into the any possibility (other than a second paypal account) of album sales not going to IMP while artist sales do that would be great.
I would like to be able to participate both ways since I do think that what you did with the DMD looks really nice.

Ken, you see, our paypal is on your page for the Triple C, so you just need to put YOUR paypal on the new page.
Programming stuff like that is more difficult than you think, but I think this solution will work, the 2 pages.

Scott,
I actually had that exact same thought that my current artist page paypal could go to IMP and the new artist page could go to my paypal account.
I did not really check what you did to route the sales from my current page to IMP.
I thought somehow you were redirecting payment from IMP from my paypal to yours.
This is good news and a solution that I was looking for so that I can contribute to IMP in my current page but have the sales form the other artist page come to me.
It does look like a very nice feature so I hope that people will take advantage of the work it took you to put it back in place.
Thanks for your help Scott I appreciate you.
Two Silo Complex,
Ken
