How about some tough personal questions?
no excuses. I know these answers for you may be fluid but try to conclude based on everything.

1) What is the best song you've ever been a part of? Post a link and tell us about it.

2) What song you've been a part of has gotten the most love from others?

3) If you could go back to age 18 to start your musical journey, what would you do different?

4) Do you recall when exactly you started to believe deeply in your musical abilities?

1) you say "ever been part of" so I'm assuming a collaboration and although there's been many Stambough/Wright 'hits' my personal favourite is In a moment because Scott's Lyrics inspired a great melody from me (although he swears I changed his best bit)

2) The best received song here was undoubtedly one I did with Gavin (Wright) his music, my tune/lyrics Skating on thin ice got great feedback, again, I'm not sure he ever listened to the end product :)

3) But I'm only 19 now so that's impossible to answer :)

4) No, it happened gradually, but after I wrote a song for someone's wedding and posted it on facebook I was surprised how everyone wanted to share it. However I don't think I have musical abilities across the board just in certain lyrical and compositional ways, certainly not technical or playing or singing.

Hope this will do, Jilly x

1. I have been part of or the writer of hundreds of songs and it is nearly impossible to p[ick one. But, if I had to pick one it would be <<>> I've Had Enough <<>> . I was invited to come sing and speak at a Men's Penitentiary a few years back as I am a retired prison chaplain. About a week before I attended an innocent little boy was gunned down in a hail of gun fire between two well known street gangs in Oakland. It prompted me to write this song. I knew I was taking a chance in singing it in the pen because the song actually calls out certain well known gangs. Doing that in a penitentiary environment could result in my untimely death. But I did it anyway with a huge blown up picture of the little boy covering the stage. The Result was an amazing display of heartfelt regrets from several sets represented in the pen. I knew then that this was one of the most important songs I have ever written. The subject of my sermon was "I've Had Enough". When it was over I asked the question and nearly every man there stood up and said "yes". The song was the set up for a life changing event. Man, I really love that song.

2. Once again, due to the sheer volume of my work, this is very difficult but I I had to choose a recent song it would be <<>> G.A.N.J.A.<<>>
As I have sold more downloads and won more awards for that song in the past year than any of my other songs.

3. Absolutely nothing. I would never want to jeopardize the outcome of my musical journey by changing anything. The music that I do today comes from the experiences I had in the past. I am well pleased with the way my life has progressed. Musically I became a product of all that I encountered and all that I encountered became an important part of my musical development. I’m cool with that.

4. I was about 7 years old and my brother was maybe 11. It was a summer day and we huddled together trying to strategize a way to keep from receiving our daily beating. Both of us had bloody scars all over our bodies and we were scared because we knew that our foster parent would be returning soon. So I wrote a doo wop song called “How do You Do Miss Willie Mae” and we added dance steps. When she unlocked the door and came into the room she had the whipping strap in her hand. But before she could make us get naked and start wailing on, us we started to sing and dance to the song. I noticed that she had a strange look on her face as she sat down and listened. Her eyes gleamed and her feet were tapping as she put the strap down. That day was one day out of many years of beatings that I won her over to peace through my music. I knew then that I had found my greatest weapon against the daily pain. I confidently learned to use it as often as I possibly could because I knew that changing her for even a second was a miraculous achievement. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. Pain became the result of her critiques. It made me work hard every day to bring the best songs from within me. I am still working every day on that even though the results will never cause me physical pain again. Now, there is no stress as I find so much joy from my songwriting. But yeah, that was my first song ever and it was miraculous.

#1) World is Burning w/-the blue voodoo Did a fair amount of playing with the group as a sideman on keys.

#2) Changes-from Holding to the Dream cdThis one has the most downloads from cdbaby, picked up for licensing as well, has most plays on terrestrial radio and got the most royalties on. so surprising the one I didnt think much of , did the best of the ten songs on that cd.

#3) Tough one, I pay attention to sticking to the study of jazz and be a pro at it and and just get out and play gigs more often, that is the real way you get could, practice is one thing, performing is a whole different thing. Another thing, well I would have. ensured i go to music school and work my chops to a higher degree of proficiency , thats a big one,I should have immersed self in doing proper transcribing and writing out of the music for others to perform, have some done, and my students I teach do a number of my originals..

#4) Dont think it ever was a big deal, maybe after 2008, for me in my life at this age and stage, that was late. But that is when the songs started coming from the cosmos.I might add, after I put up my own artist page here, did a lot of promo for others and have many here at IMP (former iacmusic) that is what my focus has been and still is, helping getting others vibe out there. rock on y'all cheers bryon

thats it
