You're right about 1, 2 and 5. However Stevie had at least 1 more #1 that he wrote.

The Carpenters 2 #1 Billboard songs were Close To You and Top of the World.
Most of the Stylistics hits were written by the amazing songwriting team of Linda Creed and Thom Bell.

Stevie Wonder wrote Tears Of A Clown? What a friggin' genius.
That is a Perfect Song. Not to mention a Perfect Record.
And you say there is another Stevie Wonder penned song
that hit Number one, that he didn't sing on?
Pray tell. What it is, Brother Soul Man, what it is!
As for any of the other questions, Hop On Pop (my first book I ever read)
nailed all of them.
Tears Of A Clown. One of the best records, ever. Wow. Good work Stevie Wonder.

Ah I was told by somebody that Stevie wrote Lovin You by Minnie Riperton but I double checked a few days ago and he just played on it.

Actually there is one I do know.
Mama Told Me Not To Come.
I vastly prefer the Three Dog Night version certainly.
But I believe the author's name is Randy Newman.
The guy who had a hit (which he wrote also) called "Short People".
He wrote that.
And the green grass grows all around all around
and the green grass grows all around...
Excuse me, I have 25 songs I promised my brother I'd listen to.
My brother who knows his sister loves him lots.
So I have ta.
Later taters....
