1. Betty Nesmith, Mike Nesmith's (Monkees) mother (my son used to love the Monkees and once mentioned that little know fact to me)

At the time, Al told me that Paul turned him down because he (Paul) was (and is) a vegan and did not want to be seen as endorsing the eating of chicken!
