Do you believe indie is better than the mainstream?
I mean if you had your very best list of songs currently being played in mainstream music today or your favorite indies as heard on this site, which would you choose?
Based on what's playing here now on the Featured Songs list and the KIAC 25, I know what I'd vote for. :>)

There is some very good indie up there. Obviously, better is subjective and I acknowledge that, so for me, I would struggle if I had to go without some mainstream productions.
I think both markets are saturated though with good and crap. That's a really hard call.
Nope, my iTunes is majority mainstream, I'm sorry if I disappoint.
But the indies on my iPod are equally important,.. Nevermind, I can't decide.

Love Indie but at the same time can't resist the big money production of Mainstream

yeah I agree with both Noah and Dolores, love the sounds coming from those who lay down their chops as their own producers, promoters hard working artists who do it for the art and yes main stream costs big, but i know some who have a great talent and ability who have produced huge soundscapes and done it on a shoestring budget and on the other hand, some who have the money and dump it in big time to get the best musicians they can and spend the money on publicists and promoters to get their Brand happening. Its developing the brand that is critical. the sound, and getting a team that works hard to build the whole process

There's no comparison for me, right now. The only acts I'm still interested in as far as the mainstream goes came to prominence in the 60s or 70s. Since the turn of the century there has been nothing much good except for indie.
