IMP Station Manager Tips & Tricks - Questions Welcome
Bryon posted recently about the need for more listeners to get involved in station management. So I started this thread for everyone to use; all the current station managers and listeners, artists, and those who want to get started.
And here is my first tip. I like to build stations based on specific themes. I establish a theme and then search for words that fit the theme and listen to the songs that pop up. For me, this is a great way to discover new (to me) music and artists.

Another tip for station managers is to always try to include a comment with the song being added.

Thanks Richard, I was going to mention that aspect of commenting , one liner or two or a little sentence. I have always made an effort to describe how a song affects me or draws me in, it is a nice gesture ,a show of thanks etc, yeah a comment is nice
continued success to artists, station managers, and of course to all those nominated for Golden Kayaks, all the best

I think it is important to pay the band you are adding more than lip service and check out a few of there other songs. They might have something going on.

Thank you for that tip, Richard. I admit that I have not gotten into the commentary. Perhaps that should become my station manager goal for 2022 - become a blurbmaster!

I have been thanked so many times for reviews. Always grateful acknowledgement from solo duos and full fledged bands. I think from my perspective Paul people always like to be acknowledged and are honored to have some kind of nod to the skills people have developed.
We artists do it first for the love of the art , its our gift to share and if the art brings coin, well that is indeed a bonus

haha, yeah, many djs were the ones with the golden ear, they made a lot of people famous, picked great music, vaulted many bands into fame and fortune like Wolfman Jack or Canada's Rosalie Trombley, who was famous for breaking new bands in rock radio, these are different times, terrestrial radio is irrelevant and djs are entertainment whores and dont give a damn about real good music, just love to hear themselves talk and yak, so as I see it that is why we are here, this is the place that gets to hear the best music one can ever have access to. I think I am good with that
