We're more important every day
All anybody wanted for Christmas was gadgets. Could anybody be cooler than when they're walkin' down the street looking at their phone? Kids are taking over households all over the world, their machines are boss. They play Minecraft and they run roughshod over their caring parents who have no say in anything any more. Call the police and report a violating laptop.

Boys?
They're just shaking their head. Looks like it's me again.
Gadgets, Dear Gadgets. Happy New Year in advance, Gadgets.
That's ahead of its time, presently, but then so are you.
Not ONLY are you more important every day.
You're also more human. Well, look, that very statement,
is, a pretty human sounding thing. It is a boast. Obviously so,
and in your case, not an unfounded one. But humans do that. Boast.
And well you should, I suppose.
You're already smarter than most of us, frankly.

Gadgets are making people retarded. When I see some asshole walking slowly across a street with their tongue up their gadget's ass and not paying attention to anything else I want to run them over.

Larree is right on the money, some of the examples I have seen,
people shopping walking around talking to their spouse at home, what else should I get, ok talk talk blab blah blab, husband and wife in a restaurant playing with their iphone looking at that and in love with a device not looking up and engaging their "loved one" in conversation, even a group of friends at a bar pulling out their new found body part that is now attached to them, its an electronic appendage scrolling texting. idiots walking on the sidewalk looking down and almost bumping into you, and sometimes it has happened with me Doorknobs driving their cars here in town not paying attention to what they are doing and almost hitting my wife and I while we cross the street in a marked crosswalk swerving at the last minute to avoid hitting us. I could go on but wont, we are seeing evidence of a society so engrossed in this smart phone thing that we have lost the art of conversation and consideration
cheers to those of us who are still human and not a part of the borg

Well Humans...
you are correct of course.
I can't think of anything more annoying than an idiot
holding their little device mindless of where they're going,
and they walk right into me practically... I've been sorely
tempted to slap it out of their hand... sometimes they actually
get an attitude with you, like how dare you be in their way....
I may yet get to bitch slapping these things right out of somebody's hand,
I do not put myself past doing that, it can be that annoying.
I was merely congratulating the machines on their victory.
Sky Net is Alive.
We don't own them, they own us.
Even I, rely on the bloody things to do music,
but yes, your observation is noted, both of you, and I agree,
we're going to hell in a handbasket, probably.
Oh well, if Trump manages the impossible and actually
does get elected, he'll blow up the world, and that'll be that.
Whateverrrr Jenniferrrrrr.....

Well Lesley, you are correct as well, everything in balance though, I am ok with the progress we have made. but the wrong people running the world will as you say, be the extinction of all of us, or maybe some will survive. in pockets here and there, avoiding the machines of death that will be ruling us, hunting us down, like rats, our future exterminators.

The OP mentioned Minecraft or Minecrack, as we know it in my household. This game has turned my 2 kids' brains to utter mush. As if I didn't mind them playing it day and night enough, they also talk really loudly about it in our house, you can't escape it, it's driving me insane.

A prelude to an upcoming song of mine in 2016 that fits this thread.
Cyberspace D Flock 2015
World of change to the left of me
No horizon on the right to see ….. the sun….the setting sun
Big brother is always watching me
A file and a list for them to keep ….. I’m done….. where can I run
Chorus
Who’s looking out for the younger ones
The robots are the lucky one’s it seems ……and they don’t dream
Life evolves in cyberspace
Soon we’ll have no race to hear our screams …….our distant screams
Where we go and what we do
Here’s a computer chip for you …..it’s free …..but you’re not free
They always know what’s best for you
Your options lost and nothing left ………to choose ……you’re gonna loose
Lead spot
A numbered sequence 1, 2, 3
A hurd of cattle with two feet ….I’m here! ……I’m over here!!
Pencil and paper have no place
I think they’re gonna clone my face …..My dear …..Oh my Dear
Chorus
End Lead riff

You know...
If humanity can only manage to evolve as quickly as the machines seem to,
we might sort it all out after all.
I shall hope so.
