I just finished reading John Fogerty's book Fortunate Son, it was a great book. He went thru so much with the rights to his songs being stolen. After reading it I feel like I could take on the world. heh

I need to read that book Scott, I finished a batch of history books and life experiences bios, need to read some musicians perspective although I have promoted one artist, Bobby Parkerwho got robbed of a few of his tunes, bloody awful the sharks and rip off mofus out there. sleaze jobs. and still run into them and that includes a few pig headed arrogant musicians that never paid up their promotions fee , it is human nature, trying to get something for nothing.
as for the book Fortunate Son, well thanks for the tip Scott

To add to the list, incidents like this was very common in the 50's and 60's. It's sad to read about a songwriter/artist who died penniless although he had written or co-written several classic songs that made millions for other artists who took claim of song(s).
As much as Elvis Presley was adored by fans, he was very much disliked by many songwriters of the time. Carl Perkins, once a great friend, hated him for years for recording "Blue Suede Shoes" and stole his thunder and rise to fame back then.

Oh I have seen the rain many days as an indy some days the rain just wants to pour on your parade and some days it waters the flowers so you can watch them grow. But I have seen the rain and sometimes its cold as hell and sometimes its "Comin' down on a sunny day".

Ken
