Bit ashamed - but we would appreciate your help
We would need loads of Voters with a Facebook Account to get the chance to play to a crowd of 8000. As a voter you can even win a 50€ Thomann Music Shop voucher. We are in the Top 10 on 1600 applicants. The cut is 3 !
We would really, I mean really, love to play that gig.

So I don't know about your interview or why you don't hang out here but I have given you several reviews in the review channel and I consider my self a fan by why should we give a like to you when you don't seen to want to return the favor you don't respond to feedback and you don't post here and support others?
You want a back scratch you have to do some scratching yourself friend.
That just the way the biz works it can't be all take and no give.

I'm curious what it says in the interview about why you're not active here?

Scott ~ I'm not signed up with Facebook but you can find their NGFY interview there
by googling: Flowers In Syrup/Facebook/NGFY interview
They are a German band and their name is the name of an actual brand of honey.
I'm also really curious as to what they had to say about why they are not active here.

I think the sole good reason to support someone's music is because you think it's good, and whether or not they support anyone else's music is not relevant.
Including the issue of whether they support other people's music is a poisonous idea. It take a lot out of a soul to make something someone would actually want to hear. If someone delivers on that very rare accomplishment, that should be enough.
I've never started a single station here, and I'm not likely to start any. That should make me someone no one should support here, and if it does, that's okay, but it would then show that it's just a listening trade, and I can't convince myself that has much of any real meaning.
What's missing here and every other music site is the listener with no song up of their own. I guess the world really won't listen much at music sites, but at least that's the stripped down real facts.

I agree with that Bob, in essence. Reciprocity deals is part of what has made music sites like these sucky. At the same time though, if you show up wanting votes and aren't an active member of the community, it's not good marketing.

Well, true I never even checked out their track cause they came from outa nowhere asking for votes, but the poster above claims to like their music but won't support it.
I guess that's what perked my interest enough to post what I said.

It´s pretty simple. The singer is Italo-Spanish, the drummer somethingelse mixed from down south balkanish, the bassman is German.
And their english is much more a language barrier than anythingelse but acceptable. Who´s involved knows that singing along is a pretty different story than communicating, even advicing especially in a discussion.
Me, actually, I was a Punk and still am, a vocalist, a guitarist, a booker and I´ve got A&R / Labelmanager history in a worldwide distributing indipendent record company (does Noise Records (Shihad, Sabbath, Skyclad etc), Dynamica (Cubanate, Oomph etc), Hellhound (Obsessed, Count Raven etc), T&T (Virgein Steele, Kamelot etc) etcpp ring a bell?) and International Productmanagment history with Columbia (does Alice in Chains, Offspring, Cypress Hill, Aerosmith, Nas, Corrosion of Conformity, Heather Nova etcpp ring a bell?).
I naturally could write my ass off about any posted song. But I´m not into giving someone hard times cause it´s the effort that counts and all of that is because Music was my first Love and it will be my last!
AND pretending in here to be one of the band´s musician that writes is of no option at all to me. I´m into honest and real stuff.
In regards of Flowers in Syrup, I´m totally into these guys, personally love them, produce them, manage them and have never ever in my career had an EP with at least 3 potential singles. Them are 3 boys from a little Stuttgart suburb village. And they simply deserve it. jm2c . Sorry if I bothered you. Wasn´t my intention.
Rock on to all in here

Thomas,
Its not really trouble per say. I do like the group quite a bit and I have given them positive feedback. Now Scott and Bob don't agree with me but that's ok
You see the thing is I'm a realist. I know that your not getting very far in music without shaking a few hands and scratching others backs before yours might be scratched in return.
I would like you to be able to perform this show so for that reason I will support it but you might want to keep in mind when your asking others for favors it might be wise to extend a favor yourself from time to time in good spirit. It can't be all take and no give.
Two Silo Complex,
Ken
