Scott didn't block anyone. :) He just deactivated his profile temporarily, to take a break from Facebook, so even those that are his FB friends can't see it, for now.

No I'm taking a sabbatical from facebook. I don't know why exactly but I was starting to feel pigeon-holed there. I think I'm coming back today but under a new paradigm. It probably won't be effective but you gotta try to change the things you can to make things better for yourself if you have the will to try.
