Those who created Iraq Mess ignore its millions of refugees
This is part of an article written concerning the refugee situation in Iraq.

" CLIFFORD MAY, in a recent BBC discussion said that, he felt that the vast majority of deaths in Iraq were caused by sectarian violence, not by US actions, and it was unfair to expect America to take on a major responsibility for the resulting refugees. He would not buy the argument that while a tyrant ruled Iraq in 2003, the country was stable and, therefore, the current bloodshed flowed directly from the Anglo-US invasion.
But Iraq’s grossly under-funded appeal has nothing to do with donor fatigue. The United States and the United Kingdom, the architects of the war, continue to occupy Iraq because they say they care for the people and their future. To that end, they have sacrificed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and of a few thousand of their own young men and women, and spent hundreds of billions of dollars in order to achieve their declared goals.
It is, therefore, nothing less than shameless that they have done so little for the refugees. Their inaction in the face of enormous human suffering reveals their hypocrisy in their stated goals.
Yet the two governments have decided that they will only contribute minuscule amounts to address the refugee crisis. While the relatively poor Syria and Jordan have taken in two million refugees, the two countries which caused this traumatic dislocation have offered refuge to a paltry 28,000, with the US granting 6,000 visas and the UK 22,000.
Whatever you and I think, international law clearly assigns the responsibility for the welfare and protection of the people to those who have occupied a country.

What do my comrades think about this situation???
(p.s....hopefully, this is not the kind of blogs that shouldn't be posted, if it is, please let me know and they won't be posted any more)

Sohnn... I can see nothing wrong with your blog post ... I do not speak for the IAC staff or the community here, just as an individual ... These are turbulent times in which we live and although we may not solve any of the problems by posting our beliefs, I think it is good that we do ... I don't think anyone of us knows everything, I myself know little, I won't always agree with others views but I try to see the subject from the writers perspective and in doing so, sometimes I learn new things or see things from another view ... I don't think you should stop your post, but remember others have views too and don't be surprised when posting political comments if you get some negative feedback... others have their own views also ... Not everyone is open minded and that is their right ... My advice, (for what it's worth) is when you express your opinions, try to keep an open mind yourself...
As for the content of this post you have posted, I personally tend to agree with what you have posted here ... It is a shame that refugees are treated the way they are... no matter whose fault it is ... I think if we are to be a part of this war then we should take our share of the responsibility of taking care of those people that have been forced from their homelands because of war .. but that is just my humble opinion

Thanks for the response,
Thats true, I try to keep an open mind in these posts because that's the only way to know what someone doesn't know.
Anyway, yeah, would be great to hear what other people think about the refugee situation mentioned......................

It is a priviledge to discuss these vital issues (even if it upsets some folks) from the outside looking in.
It sometimes feels as though the citizens in the USA have been jerked around by their leaders & certain media, to the point where opinions are hard to express----------because of a certain backlash --------for years the "states has been the country we have all looked to for leadership and direction------sadly those days are past!

It will take a great leader to turn this around-----but I believe it is possible!

The refugee problem is simply not on the radar of the present admistration, and it is not likely to change-------while winning and saving face is at the top of the Bush agenda. Anyone who has lived through the period since WW2 knows that winning and losing, only happens for one day ;and then rebuilding becomes the task for the winner----------this can make the winner , the loser financially as they have to put in huge ammounts of taxpayer money to rebuild the infrastructure!

Weasel words won't change a thing----there will always be more losers than winners -------these refugees are losers, no matter what weasel words are uttered .

The power lies with the citizens of the great country who have the vote!
