I love when people ask me ''why do you sing in English?''
oh yes, I love when people ask me ''why do you sing in English?'' and then, regardless of my own reasons, they say
''because you live in Poland, so you should sing in your mother language, and so people could understand you''
uhm...wow. wow indeed. I don't even have a good comeback to this, because it's so ridiculous. How can I even comment this?
I really hate singing in my mother language. I don't like how it sounds in music, and I find writing lyrics in Polish extremely hard. I've been writing in English since I was 8, since I've learnt basic English. I've written hundreds of lyrics and maybe only 5 of them are in Polish. And they're not my best lyrics, nah they're not. It takes me minutes to write lyrics in English, but days to write in Polish.
''And so people could understand you''
OK so how come people in my country listen to western music? Because I highly doubt everyone understands absolutely everything from the very first listen and last time I checked, western artists who are famous here don't sing in Polish.
truly loving their reasons. wow.

I for one am sure glad you sing in English. I also had no idea it wasn't your first language as you're one of the best indie lyricists I've seen.
Did your country get all the English speaking artists on radio? Beatles, Led Zep, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd?
