True Music is Timeless.....Talentworthy.....Real...Raw...

I've grown up with music all my life...stuff from 1920s-now.... I prefer the old school stuff over todays stuff..with rare exceptions of some folks stuff of different genres thatcI happen to enjoy...Why !?...
Perhaps it has essences of music from of the past
intertwined because the musicians who wrote and created their are truly creative originals of genuine talent....Focus more on the music than looks...Quality over quantity..... While sometimes interweaving a plethora can produce awesome results...other times ...not...perhaps the mutual
vibes weren't right to make it effective.....wrong collaborative setups...etc..

But when all ingredients are in positive accordance and blend in harmony...regardless of age...time...etc...if it produces the music that sticks through generations...by golly that is the true definition of what awesome music is about. If it moves you....embrace it !?!

Hi Jax, Some music stands the test of time of course but not necessarily because it moves us or even that it's borne out of talent. You have to include Novelty songs, One hit wonders, you must remember songs that were created through circumstance, protest songs, tribute songs.

Today's listeners are moved but not in the same way, they enjoy the sociability of music rather than the spiritual, reflective stuff. They don't always want meaningful lyrics but they like to sing out the hooks, just as people did through every decade.

I also don't agree that appearance is a factor like it was in the 1950s for example. It's almost de rigueur to be a 'larger' woman and for a male to have 'Mum appeal' slightly cute and cuddly or even geeky.

Music can be personal but it can also be something to share and we must take account of that.
