Do you believe in predestination of any sort?

For instance, do you believe it is possible to run into someone that you know at first glance is meant to be with you? Like some decisions you make are coded into your DNA?

A story for you. And it's true:
I have Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed when I was 25 years old, back in 1995.
In 2005, I was married with 2 small children. My MS had been stable, thankfully, and I was getting around just fine. Could still run and play and throw my kids around.
However, my wife had started noticing that I was beginning to have small memory lapses. I was forgetting things that I normally remembered, like the time church started on Sunday, and things like that. She suggested that I go talk to my neurologist to make sure that it wasn't related to my MS.
So I went.
My doctor did the standard exam. He noted that I was still looking great, but suggested that I have a follow-up MRI, as I hadn't had one since I was diagnosed, 10 years prior. My forgetfulness was a little weird.
When the results of the test came back, my doctor had me come in to go over them with him. There was good news and bad news.
The good news: my MS was stable. No new lesions. And the prognosis there was still looking good.
The bad news: there was something in my head that they needed to take a closer look at.
They brought me in for a CAT scan to get a higher-resolution picture of what they saw in my MRI and it confirmed their previous thought. I had a Cavernous Angioma: a clump of blood vessels that had grown together into a tangled mess. And it was starting to leak. It was going to need to come out.
I made the appointment for as soon as they could get me in and, 2 weeks later, I was having brain surgery.
The surgery was successful and I'm doing well. 13 years later, my MS is still relatively stable.
But had I not had MS, that cavernous angioma may not have been caught. It may have continued to leak, and then burst. And I would be dead.
And had my wife not noticed (and insisted that I go to the doctor), I would definitely be dead.
How do you think I feel about destiny?

Synchronicity----yeah Mortimer---happens all the time but if you are too busy or unaware to notice it---it simply passes you by

EG, if you watch TV all day or are spending a lot of time looking in the mirror --(narcissistic) you are gonna miss many oppurtunities

When I was a kid there was a guy named Terry that I just could not get along with. We had fights all the time. I broke his jaw once and he knocked out some of my teeth. It was a grudge that went on until we were in high school. Terry pulled a gun on me and shot me in the leg. He went to jail for that and I didn't see him again for another 20 years. I was visiting San Quentin and was talking to the men about something when I looked out into the crowd and there he was. I could not believe it. It caught me so off guard that in the middle of quoting scripture I blurted out Terry Williams! He looked at me like I was crazy or something and I could tell that he did not recognize me. I had gone bald and looked a lot different. But when I said Terry, its me! Stoneman! He looked about as shocked as I was. That day, when I had alter call, Terry came up and I prayed for him. Turned out that he was getting out of prison in another week. When he got out I helped him get a job and find a home church. To this day, he says that if he had not seen me that day he would be back in jail. But seeing me gave him a ray of hope. After all, if Stoneman (of all people) could get his life together and become a minister, there was hope for anyone. Terry and I are now the best of friends as he is the pastor of a church now. Great guy with a strong right hook.

I believe it is the other way and you imagine it is destined after it happens. So many things might have happened but don't then when something works you think it's fate but really it's just something that happened.
