The initiative to this collaboration was initiated by slaptap, when he posted a presentation of one song he had been working on in the forum of the Swedish studio magazine. The base of the song was constructed from a bass guitar jam he made along with a serious drum programming. The interest in continuing to develop the song was enormous among other musician and singers. The original thread in the forum rapidly turned into the most popular, with thousands of views and close to three hundred comments. When slaptap had established the contact with the most eminent musician and singers the song stated to live its on life. Everyone involved was separately responsible for bringing their part to the recoding. The coordination of the different styles of everyone involved made the work complicated but it's also what made the song stand out. During this work comments like this was posted in the forum:

“This still sounds pretty good for being a bunch of fools more or less recording what they feel like close to simultaneously without listening to each other” /Hellpig

The compilation of the song was made by a majority of the involved. The chosen final mix was made by djonas. It was presented with the usual sermonic procedure on the forum and once again a wave of positive comments was posted by listeners.

”Applauds ! I take my hat of, You made it!” /Baktakt

“Shit, heavy, Great sound, it's a pleasure to listen to the instruments. Good vocals. This is a song with great potential.” /Soxic

”Haha, this was fun… you kind of gett everything at once” /steflund

Shrine of Distortion became the band name of the collaboration. The future of S.O.D is still unwise. More certain the members have found new ways of creating future projects. My self I'm now participating a project initiated by dede, were several of the guys from this project are involved. The aim is to record material for a twenty minutes song. Maybe this will be the follow-up to the Kilimanjaro success?
