IMP.... nothing like it!
I joined IAC (as it was) many years ago and saw it through to become IMP. Recently I lost interest in music making (and listening) and also social activities online generally, but I'm still proud to have been involved here, The other day I sent a link to someone for IMP.... they were astounded. It's such a colorful site with so many facilities and lots of stalwart members who love it, support it and call it home! How many music sites can you say are so user friendly. IMP is not out to make a fortune, it doesn't pretend to make you famous, it's open minded and run by a great guy. I just had to come back to say thank you x

It warms me just to see you Verity. and it inspired me so much I went out and spammed this pitch for IMP to about 40 songwriting groups on facebook.

A little amendment - the reason the outsider was astounded was not how great the site was, it was more how out of date it was because apparently no-one makes sites like this anymore.... well firstly.... perhaps people should start making colourful, easy to use yet multi-functional sites again instead of the monochrome impersonal cookie-cutter, unappealing, confusing stuff they are producing to the same format !

What Francesca said Verity said!

I admire how Scott has held the line and stood up for the values that IMP represents. A site that is colorful, user friendly and ad free is a blessing when many sites are controlled by soulless corporations and created by robots with artificial intelligence. IMP is not perfect but that’s what it means to be human.

I just came back this week Verity and I must say, I completely agree with you! It is great to see one of my all-time favourite music sites still going after all these years.

The mid 2000s were a very special time here and I sense a growing undercurrent of people who got drawn into the social media giants making a mini exodus back here. I'm one of them.

My new band name may not yet be all that familiar with the original folks here but I'm sure some will remember SuperPuss. ;)

=^..^=

You know, I'd really like to see more of the old school IACers come back around. If any of you folks have these people on your facebook friends lists. give em a holler.

Silversmith
Maria Daines
Hugh Hamilton
Texas Willie
Auset
there are so many.

I'm gonna reach out to a couple today.

I'd love to see that too Father Time. Interesting you mention Hugh Hamilton. I was on his IMP page yesterday hoping to make contact again.
He's playing on one of the tracks I'm including on my new album and i wanted to let him know about the album.

Hello again!
Something told me I should check back in at that old IAC place I used to hang out at, like over 10 years ago. I looked at my old page and saw that my last login was June of 2013. Of course I have no idea what my password was or even what email I used so I'm jumping in with a new one. I started out searching for my old friend Jawzy, but as I recalled she checked out around the same time I did. But then I saw that Verity, my other old friend from back then (wink) just popped back in from a lengthy vacation. And another familiar name, the artist formerly known as Superpuss, also came back around. So I figured something must be in the air. I might just be passing through, or I might be hang around for a while, I dunno yet. I see a bunch of familiar names though!

Wow you are well remembered as one of Jilly's collaborators. I'm just here, and everywhere really, as a writer, don't/can't do music any more. Scott (another collaborator) never stopped making music but I just felt like I'd done everything I could and real life stuff made it difficult anyway. I did download something from Bandcamp a few years back where my sister was involved. Lovely to hear from you again Stegor :)

It's funny. I too don't/can't do music anymore. I just don't seem to have it in me. I still love music, but I never really had natural ability so it was always a bit of a struggle to squeeze it out of me.

Came to this site in 2006 and really it kicked ass back then for quite a few years.. We (Silverwoodstudio) are still playing in various guises (bands) but recording has definitely taken a back seat . However---- over time we have accumulated over 192.000 plays on IMP which we owe to Scott and his team.

There is no other site which has all the bells and whistles of IMP. Maybe peeps will wake up to it in huge numbers again soon. music moves in cycles---the pendulum swings. Viva Indiemusicpeople. cheers!
