Donations needed for Ricky's operation, help if you can, thanks :)
Hi all,
I'm passing this on for a friend who is involved in puppy mill rescue, this is a plea for urgent funds to administer medical treatment to a sweet pug puppy called Ricky, we weren't able to send much but we sent $10, and we're just thinking if everyone could spare a little this poor young dog could get the operation he needs and the rescue centre would be able to keep going and do more great work, hope you can help too, thanks and best wishes

If you cannot see his picture you can go to http://www.greenmtnpugrescue.com/ and see his sweet face on the top left part of the main website page.
Ricky is a puppy mill rescue. He is 6 months old. Doesn't he look sweet in this picture? From the picture, you would never know little Ricky needs to have Patella surgery. I am not a vet nor do I try to play one so I did had to ask what Patella surgery actually was. Since I know Karen, the founder of Green Mountain Pugs in Vermont, I knew she would understand my ignorance in this and explain. Her response to my question and if they needed donations was:
Patella is a bone in the back legs of dogs- it pops out of socket- so he can't run right- walks weeble wabbly etc...he is such a loving pug- scared of everything-straight from a puppymill. Makes me furious- only 6 MOS old... :( his surgery will be 1200.00 and yes we have only gotten donations to cover about 50 of it so far.. We are doing it anyways and will worry later- he is having this done on Monday- both have to be done. We got 5 estimates- all the same price range for them both. Any donations are gratefully accepted..
Doing the surgery anyway and worrying later about the bill! Why? Because they care enough to care for what is needed now, not when they can afford this. This precious soul has to hop like a bunny with his back legs in order to "walk". So, I am personally asking for some help for Ricky's medical bills. GMPR (Green Mountain Pug Rescue) has 11 pugs on their site that are available now and every one is a puppy mill rescue. They either came from Kansas or OH puppy mills. Some as young as Ricky, some as old as Bubba who is 10 and whom I have on my own petfinder site in hopes of finding him a loving home.
Please, help me help Little Ricky by cross posting this to anyone you can think of. Even just a $10. donation may not seem like much but we all know how multiple donations of small amounts add up so quickly. I am putting a donation jar up at work in hopes of helping a wee bit more. Please, take a moment to click on the paypal link on their website http://www.greenmtnpugrescue.com/ and donate for Little Ricky or send donations made payable to GMPR directly to Karen Powers 14 Pine Ridge Circle, Lyndonville, VT 05851 and put "For Ricky" in the memo.
Until we can finally shut these horrid puppy mills down, we will continue to help these angels while paying for the millers crimes. But until then, those 11 pugs with GMPR will never again be used for profit as prisoners of greed.
Thank you all in advance for all your help in getting the word out for help for Little Ricky.
