Musical tour for Aneurysm Research, please support
Foundation For
Aneurysm Rupture Research
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New York-LA Aneurysm Awareness Concerto-Thon Bus Tour '07!
Off we go!
The Foundation is now organising its 'Go FFARR!' Aneurysm Awareness Concerto-Thon Bus Tour for June-July 2007. It will feature the Foundation's Executive Director Richard J. Astor going in the Foundation's 'Go FFARR!' bus from New York to Los Angeles giving free concerts of classical music -- mainly Mozart and other piano concertos: around 30 piano concertos and other music, around 16 states, around 60 venues, and more than 3,000 miles of aneurysm rupture awareness-building, working with local patients, families, hospitals, scientists, clinicians, schools and musicians along the way. No stuffy office work!
Volunteers wanted!
To volunteer to help the Foundation in this exciting and worthwhile trip, please email us. We welcome anyone who can help us liaise with and spread the word to local scientists, clinicians, hospitals, schools, municipal officials, journalists, media and folks who may be interested to have the Go FFARR! bus visit them, catch our free aneurysm awareness presentations and enjoy our free concerts.
WHY?
We think a cross-US bus tour will help the Foundation promote and publicise its work and:-
• get directly involved with aneurysm patients, and their family and friends, and their experiences with local healthcare, especially in poor, rural and disadvantaged communities. We want to ascertain real-life aneurysm-related problems and needs, and focus on doing something about them
• see first hand relevant latest scientific research and clinical treatments, including by meeting leading researchers in their labs and clinicians in their hospitals
• contribute quickly and effectively to public education of the dangers of aneurysms, the utility of screening, and the importance of identifying and getting genuinely expert advice and treatment.
THE ROUTE
The route is a 50-mile-wide straight line between New York City and Los Angeles:-
States include New York, New Jersey, Pennslyvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California
Cities include Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Las Vegas
Main and small towns include Allentown PA, Canton PA, Mansfield OH, Kokomo IN, Bloomington IL, Jacksonville IL, Fulton MO, Junction City KS, Scott City KS, Pueblo CO, Bluff UT, Tuba City AZ, Flagstaff AZ and Needles CA.
We'd like to bring 'Go FFARR 2007!' to all of them!
