Thank you so much SP!!!!! :)
You made my day!!!! It's such a long story and I think one day I will talk it into a mic & share it that way, I still have the first emails from Dr. Roba, when the dogs were discovered in the cave and he asked me what he thought we could do and stupidly I said 'you have to get them out'!! Not realising what an enormously difficult task it would be, I couldn't sleep for days knowing that they were alive in there with no food or water and no way out, but very quickly he and his colleagues at HAPS put an action plan into motion & thankfully it worked. It was quite something because the shelter is very poor and they didn't even have a ladder, they assessed the best way to capture the dogs, using mild sedation on some pieces of dog food dropped into the hole and then ventured in, they were probably the only people to have ever been in there! The floor of the cave was water logged & gave way in places, it was a graveyard of all the lost souls that had been dumped there over the years, so sad that help came too late for them. But I can still remember the feeling of jubilation and the tears when I had word that they got the dogs out safely, it's unforgettable and this story shows what can be done, even in places where the odds are stacked so high, to save life & make a difference. I have utmost respect for the rescuer's in Ethiopia & it's a great shame that since then they have had to close their doors to taking in more animals due to lack of funds & support, so I thought a spotlight on their work and devotion to caring might just help.
Thanks again SP & I'm looking forward to watching your films on youtube :)
Bye for now, Maria xx
