I think i played with an alien
April fools he was an Albino guy from Glasgow. That had one of the first Olympic white Strats to say it was played in was an understatement. I was just starting playing bass it was my first band The session men. We only played one pub we had a residency The West end. The singer Rick O Chet the singer was from Glasgow invited 2 of his mates from Glasgow up the other guy was a singer in the 50,s 60,s style they both were. We played Hey Joe with the 2 guys from Glasgow. To say this guy was good on the guitar. I have never ever seen an audience react to someone in this way. But i had my little moment when instead verse chorus verse chorus finished. I went verse chorus then verse for 10 minutes let this guy fly. I learned more in that 10 minutes

awesome story Paul thanks for sharing, I learned so much playing covers in bands, especially doing covers, cause you had to learn your parts, no more, then in the bluevoodoo who did all originals I had the opportunity to add my style of tasty parts and by then, I had enough experience from previous many years to experiment and add my vibe to their songs, well was on 2 albums, but playing live with the blue voodoo was a happening thing, in fests and at clubs ,now its just me on piano in small venues, xmas parties new years doing easy listening and background music.
The bluevoodoo celebrate their 20th this year as a band

Wow, an Olympic White Strat? Jeesh, I had one many years ago and sold it to a player in the band and he still has it. I saw him playing it in a gig a couple years ago. Man, I wish I had kept it! It was one hell of an axe!

I never played with an alien but they had me on this spaceship one time and played me some of their otherworldly music. It used chords we do not have but it was really good.

You to Scott? Yeah, they made me listen for hours and it was such a bore. But hey, they didn't massage your earlobes with a weird looking appendage did they? I found out later that that is their mating ritual.

The silver chalice? Ah man, you might develop some extra ordinary abilities from that. Here's a thought. If you start to growing feathers you may be able to fly. I never drank out of the silver chalice but I know guys who did. They all started a rock band and became unknown. Isn't that the way of things these days? I haven't been able to find them ever since. Probably playing some dive in the dessert. Vegas seems to swallow up musicians and never spits them out. Once you go to Vegas you never come back. Aliens love that place! They can walk around in full alien attire and no one even notices. Elvis was one of them you know? He had antennae under that hair.
