New Song and Online Collaboration

Good evening IAC friends.

I just completed recording a home demo of a new song called "I Never Wanted To Say Goodbye". This represents several firsts for me. The first time I've ever taken someone else's words and completed a song. It's also the first time I've ever responded to an online collaboration via You Tube. Aleisha R had invited people to put music to her words on You Tube, and the winning song would be put on a CD and sent around the industry. We had a short amount of time to send in video responses. Aleisha received several dozen entries including a rough demo from yours truly, and on September 10th she selected her favorite a song written by Conkling. Even though Aleisha didn't select my version of the song, I'm quite happy because we got a good song written together. Aleisha went on to enter Conklin's version of the song into Star 98.7FM's songwriter contest, and the winner of that contest would be featured as a bonus track on the next Star 98.7 compilation CD. Wouldn't that have been great!!

Wouldn't it be great if we IAC musicians could collaborate in this way? Anyhow, I'd really appreciate your support for this song if you feel it fits into the genre of your stations.

If you are interested in collaboration there is a great site F-Jam Online Collaboration Studios run by Fred E Jam. The collaboration site can be found at

http://fjams.zapto.org/portal/

They also have an artist page at KIAC

http://www.iacmusic.com/artist.aspx?ID=75853

They are also looking for more female collaborators if anyone is interested.
Hope that's not sexist !
