Hi Gary
It's great to hear this song again in such a pure way.
I went to see Paul Weller in Aberdeen last November in Aberdeen and it was a pure joy. Myself and my boy were right up at the front and stood watching and listening for 1 1/2 hours.
Great night, he is one of my biggest influences.
Does anyone else out there like Paul ?.

Woh excellent version Gary-You've put alot of love n energy into that cover dude..Havn't heard that song for years..You've made me want to go and check out the original again!

THe Jam were fantastic..All mod Cons is great but 'THis Is THe Modern World' is such an unfairly maligned album(even by Paul himself)..Dunno why..

Ahh thank you lads. Yeah, I'm so fortunate to have been a Jam fan as a teen, getting into the sound checks like thousands of others. I'll never forget how great they were and how magnificent they sounded live. I'm glad he's still making music, but it's just not the same for me in terms of true life poetry.

I too thought "This Is The Modern World" was quite a good album, much more deserving of appreciation by the critics and even the band. "Life From A Window" and "Tonight At Noon" were two stand outs for me, as was the title track, which really said it all for me at the time, going to a dead end school with few prospects ahead of me.

Can you believe it was 30 years ago that "All Mod Cons" was released?

There is an excellent documentary on You Tube in 6 parts which chronicles the making of All Mod Cons at the following link if you are interested:

Great video Code.
I'm not so much just a jam fan but also the"Style council" and his solo career.
However to hear him sing "Eton rifles" right in front of me was sensational for me and all around me.

My best Jam memory, other than meeting Mr. Weller face to face was when I went to Woking by train on a rumor in 1981 that they would be playing a gig at the YMCA, and having it turn out to be true, a free gig, front of the stage, Paul Weller less than 4ft from me, only room for 200 kids. It was a month before I emigrated to America, some might call that a religious experience.

Damn, Gary... you even sing like Paul. Anyone ever told you that you sound like him? You do.

Great cover.
I enjoyed this a lot.
