Supporting the Arts
The Art Factory was formed with the intent of selecting music for the enjoyment of the station manager without an expected or designed impact within a larger context or environment. Over the course of a year stations grew due to the manager/artitst's increasing desire to address environmental concerns having to do with social commentary, of which humanitarian and political subject took form via interactivity within the larger forum of the IAC experience. Within a short period of time of connectivity and observation within the community the station manager realized the importance of our symbiotic relationship in support of music and to communication arts. One of the fundamental aspects driving the art factory stems from the following whole making theory within the Gestalt view of nature.

"Human beings are whole-makers, synthesizers of a wide variety of bodily, perceptual, cognitive, behavioral, and existential gestalts (Crocker, 1999). Learning and change is the result of how an individual organizes his/her experiences and assimilates novelty. Human beings can neither refrain from meaning making nor from organizing and reorganizing themselves as they have new experiences."

Seems like you're an active listener which is good. I didn't really get the gist of the rest of it though. :~D

As with a song or by the writen word, it may just take a pinch more thyme to digest. Feel free to visit again, to read and listen at your leisure.

I especially like this phrase as it applies to life and the arts in general. "Human beings can neither refrain from meaning making nor from organizing and reorganizing themselves as they have new experiences."

Thank you for the recognition Fly. I admire your writing, persona and creative contribution to IAC. Your character makes this place interesting, fun and adds a unique seasoning to the collective Muse.

Judging by your stated ethos, you would really enjoy the music we make! We would greatly appreciate your time to check out our work and see if you can fit any of it into your array of excellent stations...

Oh, sorry, I see you have two of our older songs included in Feathers and Butterflies - but do re-visit our page and see if any of the newer songs do it for you!

Oops - sorry, but I just spotted "Roundton" - our latest upload - included in your Voices station - so I guess all that remains is for me to thank you, sincerely, for all your support!

I have a few comments to make which I hope may improve some of the ongoing communication here on IAC. I have addressed some of this through song choices and blog comments in the past and again more recently. For one point - it should be very clear, I am not here for any reason than to listen to music and on occasion converse by way of blogs. I don't communicate via the 'playing now' list, although I have seen people communicate that way. It's a strange feeling when you see your own station being played but I suppose it's good that others are enjoying listening as much as I have, which can only benefit the exposure of each artist.

The down side could be to the station manager if they are misunderstood as being the person communicating in that forum, this aspect alone could cause a person to leave IAC and/or to delete stations when they do. Most importantly, I think people have been driven away because there is a lack of understanding and/or respect to personal lives simply because of the selection of songs to any given station... I don't know how most of you feel about this but I experience it as a detriment to the community and does not help the site in terms of welcoming new listeners or musicians.

It's nice that you like music but I want to tell you in the nicest possible way that you might benefit from psychological help for your obvious need to find communal meaning for things that are overwhelmingly random. It can't make your life any easier to be this engrossed in such a bag of nonsense, nor to think that there are many others like you who analyze stations and lists compulsively and imagine these represent coded communications going on.

woah. Fly you are quite deep sometimes. Great follow to Art Factory's heady post. He's right though, your presence here keeps us on our toes. Even though sometimes it's with tough criticism. In the midst of so many artist simply patting each other on the back at times, as many have pointed out on IAC, it's good to have somebody like YOU, fly, keepin' it real. I'm bein' serious here, by the way.

Huh!.. that is funny fly!.. that's alright, I forgive cause you do not know what you do. :) In your mind people must be insane or ___ when you don't know of the experience by which a person speaks. I'm giving an honest perspective, and why you continually choose to make people's business a personal matter to you is very curious. Perhaps you should seek professional help and stop wasting everybody's time.

Phlegm I appreciate your comment - bottom line, if you all want to encourage listeners and musicians to be on this site then consider what I've said and take it to heart. :) Cheers.. till we meet again.

I would just request more respect shown towards each other that there might be less personal attack, and emphasis amongst yourselves - that more of us might be able to enjoy this site or in the very least encourage more listeners, and potential buyers for all this great music!

Yesterday I constructed a myspace site for the purpose of networking to bring in new artists and listeners to IAC.. it is because of my love for the arts I encourage and support this site for the creative inspiration we give each other. I hope IAC will continue to grow and this is one of my contributions for this cause. All 33 stations are listed and currently are set to random play from the station All My Lovewww.myspace.com/artfactoryiac

If you currently have a song on All My Love and it is not playing I will be going through and removing them as well as adding to in the next few weeks. I hope there will be forward progress and mutual respect for our community as it potentially grows and encourages the diverse talent IAC is known for.
