A HUGE thank you to everyone who voted for Valentine
Last night (this morning for me) was the much anticipated Golden Kayak awards and what a brilliantly run ceremony it was. Scott and Jilly did a superb job as our hosts and it was wonderful to see so many people taking part. We even managed to completely take over the Pipeline on Verity's party thread!!!
It was such a huge buzz congratulating the winners in each category and then...... classic and progressive rock nominations were read out and my heart was racing!!!!......but not as much as when Valentine was announced as the winning song!! Seriously, I could hardly type I was shaking so much!!
Anyway, I just want to say how absolutely thrilled I am at receiving this award and I'd like to say a big congrats to the other nominees in this category too. Honestly, there was so much stiff competition and any one of us could've taken this award.
So THANK YOU so much to everyone who voted for Valentine and THANK YOU IAC for providing the best indie site on the planet!

For once I can say, I know exactly how you feel!!!
I honestly had to just bail out and go outside and roar -----then onto the phone!!
I was too mixed up to get to Larrees party---but now I wish I had!!
Is there a thread for that (Larrees Party)?

Sincere congratulations to you on your award. I had those same jitters when they got to the Classic and Progressive Rock genre. I must say I wasn't surprised though - Valentine is just a really cool song.
And uh... we'll get you next time, dammit!!!! (just kidding)

I hear you on the going outside and roaring thing!! I didn't go outside but I did let out a significant 'WOW' and 'THANK YOU' :D I can only imagine how elated you are with your triple Kayaks!!
I'm editing some video footage I captured of Larree's after party performance and will be making an announcement when I have it online.

There was some mighty fine tunes in our nominated category this year and I really had no idea who was going to get the Kayak. It really could've been any one of us.
