*** Yay! Another MUSIC topic! ***
Yep, that's right. Who would've thought...... a MUSIC topic on a MUSIC website! What a wonderful idea!!!
Seriously though folks, just thought I'd let you all know about a new tune on my page.
This one is called Waiting for the Tide and was written by Carlos a couple of weeks ago at SuperPuss Music & Image Studios while we were kicking back relaxing. We had just been meditating and were contemplating writing some music to submit for a Kiwi movie about the origins of the surf culture. This tune is the result.
We haven't heard back from the movie director yet.

I can almost feel the sand between my toes, the salty breeze blowing across my face and hear the waves rolling in as I am amused by the flocks of seagulls flying, dancing and calling for the sun to set in their own distinct language ....
Nice tune ...

Ah Sam, your post makes me want to go down to the beach now and kick back on the sand. If it wasn't so hot here today, I might've done that but right now, I'd burn to a crisp!!
I'm actually only about 15 mins from Bells Beach too.
In fact, this photo was taken at Bells Beach....

I'd stuff myself in a bottle ...
and toss myself into the sea ...
If I could be sure the tide would take me ...
To Super Puss at Lovely Bells Beach ...

Looks like John has helped you get here Sam!!! Cool stuff John.
Just one thing, do you reckon you could make an edit to your post. Putting large photo's in makes the topic hard to read for anyone with screen resolutions of 1024 width or lower.
If you could add size tags to your image, that will help. Here's the code with size tags.....

SP!
Great tune! I can picture the waves crashing at dusk with an red/orange sun blanketing the horizon on a California coast. Fire pit blazin', beer in hand, boards standin' vertical in the sand.................. Yeah
D.

Thanks again guys. I was talking to Carlos on the phone about an hour ago. He must've known I was adding the song because he called me literally as it was uploading!! I must get him involved here so he can blog too :)
Thanks too for the station add, Duane. :)

as mentioned above, Carlos gets the writing credits for this tune, and a fine credit it is too! Great to hear the sun came out for you while you were listening.

Ahh the sounds of the beach, I must say you are an artist after my own heart.
Once again you have proven that great music is just a click away.
Keep on sailing thru the waves, and ride the crest for as long as you can.

Oh yeah.
It's getting on to summer down there.
Listening now and it's got a real nice summer evening feel to it. Maybe a wistful end-of-summer thing? But certainly a feeling of completion or resolution.
I can definitely hear this used in a movie soundtrack; maybe over the end credits.
Very nice work.

Cheers Todd. :)
I was actually thinking very similar things about the summer evening feel when Carlos first played me the riff.
He'd stayed the night at my place and got up a lot earlier than me (because I tend to go to bed VERY late and sleep until lunchtime!!) and started writing this song while I was asleep. So, ironically, it was actually written in the morning.
We recorded it that evening though and actually had the entire song completed that day.
