*** A SuperPuss progressive rock anthem with 30 piece choir! ***
Around nine months ago, I wrote a blog HERE about an emotional experience that lead to the beginnings of a new song I knew was going to take some time to complete.
I had visions in my head of incorporating lots of elements in this song and wanted to include a full choir as well. So, one step at a time, I put the ideas down on my multitrack and today, it is finished and online.
When I first started recording it, I didn't have a lead singer and was not sure how I was going to go about finding a choir to record but, patience and persistence has lead to finding both. Some of you will have already heard AiDiem Le's vocals on a couple of my other new tracks and, with this song, you will also hear the talents of the Tides of Welcome Soul and Gospel Choir.
Without further ado, I give you
Circus Freak
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together :)

You have got to be kidding me!
I am listening now and I think that the Circus Freak is you! I LOVE that you are willing to go so far out there and take so many chances. You are truly a woman after my own heart. Were you not so far away, I think that we would have a great time recording together. I may not be a virtuoso, but I think that we would have a lot of fun twiddling knobs and screwing around with whatever songs we had.
This is a lot of fun and I am adding it to my station.
I am also going to suggest an artist for you to listen to, in the thread that I created for that purpose.

Utterly beautiful and sonically very rich. I love the feeling of space and the polished production. The electric guitar really digs in there and makes the song for me and gives it some guts as the female vocal isn't the strongest (in my opinion).
I expected more from a gospel choir - They are a bit too much in the background. Get those big black mommas to give it some welly!!
It keeps moving and changing without sounding contrived - Too many people try too hard and get intellectual and cock it up! Great transition to a fabulous piano!
Love it!!

Todd,
Thanks HEAPS for the station add. I am indeed the 'Circus Freak' referred to in this song!!
I would LOVE to spend some time with you in the studio being creative. That would be a blast :)
Oh, and thanks for the artist recommendations in your other thread too :)
Red,
Thank you too for your wonderful critique and valuable feedback. I agree with you about the choir parts too. I was actually hoping they'd give it a bit more gusto. Alas, it is what it is. Their contribution is still greatly appreciated though and I feel it adds another dimension to the song, even if not completely what I had in mind.

It sounds great !
And yet...more than great..I think!
Despite of its length this piece holds the attention and surprises with ability for giving variety in the structure.
The Gospel Choirs at the background is very impressive!
And I like also the part after 6.45 with the beautiful piano!
May be I am too subjective and my opinion reposes on my partiality for this instrument!
Anyway, I really enjoy the song very much!
Thank you SuperPuss!

WOW! Great song and great production with very direct and powerful words. Great use of a choir. (I wish I could afford one!!) It's obvious from this song that there is no goal the circus freak can't achieve when she puts her mind to it. Good job!

Ti,
This is fabulous, is this your church's choir? I disagree with Red, I think AiDiem's vocal is fine, and also the choir's presence is ethereal, which blends perfectly with the ambience. If both were louder/edgier the song would still work, but for me it would be a different song altogether then.
Gorgeous.

Phlegm and Lace,
Thank you both SO MUCH for your support. :)
Lace,
The choir is not actually a church choir as such. It is run by a friend of mine and consists mostly of community members who have a passion for singing.

Hi Titania
I love the arrangement on this one, I really love the moodiness of the guitar.
Cheers Mark
