The way I heard it, Arlen Roth played nearly all of Ralph's parts - Ralph faked it to a backing track - a little bit of Cooder (an original contributor) remains in the soundtrack, Vai's part is basically his own piece 'Eugene's Trick Bag'. Bill Kanegiser did the classical stuff.........

Aww Eagle, you are probably right who is "actually playing" Ralph is an actor, and does not have the chops. :)

I must admit, Ralph does a pretty damn good job of miming those guitar parts. Then again, obviously that is one of the reasons he has the role!!
