HAPPY "EASTER" EVERYONE !!!
HAPPY... "EAST STAR”

Today is a celebration honoring the vernal equinox(which occurred on March 20th) where the “Day gains victory over Night”. The “late” celebration of this event is due unto Passover, which also honors the Moon’s phase of “Light over Darkness” for the seven days toward becoming “Full”.
The Equinox of Spring is the Solar Equivalent unto this “Quarter Moon” phase...

Nowadays we are celebrating a “Masculine/Patriarchal” entity.
And yet, “Easter” or Ishtar is a Babylonian GODDESS... of fertility(the “egg” and the rabbit), love, war, sex, and power.
In other cultures SHE would be known as Astarte, Aphrodite, Venus, Inanna(among many more!)
***the following is copied from the Library Of Halexandria ***
***Myths of Inanna were created sometime between 1900 BC and 3500 BC, although THEY MAY HAVE BEEN CREATED EVEN EARLIER. In their original inception they were PRE-PATRIARCHAL myths. At the same time, Inanna’s myths also show the incursions of the patriarchy, her gradual dispossession and loss of status. IN SPITE OF HER POWER AS GODDESS OF MOST EVERYTHING, Inanna becomes a wanderer; she takes a powder. Most of the powers once held by her were being slowly eroded. The fact she was pictured as a beautiful woman (i.e. attractive to males, as opposed to the earth fertility goddesses of pre-history), suggests that she was under attack early on.
Inanna is the Queen of Heaven and Earth and the Goddess of Love. She is also Goddess of Grain, War, Fertility, Sexual Love, and perhaps best of all, Lady of Myriad Offices(Mother of Government). As noted in Archetypes, Inanna was known in Mythology as HEALER, LIFEGIVER, and composer of songs; the keeper of emotions -- ranging from loving, jealous, grieving, joyful, timid, and exhibitionistic, to thieving, PASSIONATE, AMBITIOUS, and GENEROUS. Inanna was eternally youthful, DYNAMIC, fierce, sensuous, the harlot-VIRGIN, NEVER SETTLED NOR DOMESTICATED, MAGNETIC, yet INDEPENDENT. She was into fertility, ORDER, war, LOVE, HEAVENS, healing, emotions, and song; ALWAYS WANDERING, SEARCHING FOR her HOME, her POWER. Ultimately, she was the embodied, playful, passionately erotic, feminine; the powerful, independent, self-willed, feminine; the ambitious, REGAL, many-sided feminine. ***

As you can see, many of these qualities can be recognized in the personage of Jesus... who was also known as the “Sun” of God(“Light” of the World)... do not forget that “blood and water” flowed from “his” Side”(that SIDE of the “equation”... the “equation” called “Humanity”... where blood flows from monthly... the “Feminine Side”... unless of course a pregnancy has taken hold... and then the “Water” will flow from that “Side” preceding the birth) And Jesus was “In Travail”(much like unto a woman giving birth)... suffering the pain and agony so that “others” might “have life”(come into this world).

So, while we adhere to this festival(Easter) as being the “resurrection” of the Son(sun) it is more likely a “Birthday”... or a “Coming Out” party(“out of the Darkness). For the “conception”(and/or death) of the “sun” actually occurs during Winter Solstice”. And after three “days”(or “Moon Days”... months) the “Birth/Resurrection takes place. And that “Star In The East” heralding the coming of this “Sun”(of god) is Venus(Ishtar/East Star/Isis). And the Venus cult honored sacred prostitution(by the vestal VIRGINs)... with whom Mother Mary is associated... The Virgin Mother/Queen of Heaven.

I’ve Added Another Notable “Feminine” Easter(Death&Resurrection) Comparison... Along With Some Other “Feminine God” Information Below:
***copied from wikipedia
One of the most famous myths about Ishtar describes her DESCENT TO THE UNDERWORLD. In this myth, Ishtar approaches the gates of the underworld and demands that the gatekeeper open them:
If thou openest not the gate to let me enter,
I WILL BREAK THE DOOR, I will wrench the lock,
I will smash the door-posts, I will force the doors.
I WILL BRING UP THE DEAD to eat the living.
And the dead will outnumber the living.
The gatekeeper hurried to tell Ereshkigal, the Queen of the Underworld. Ereshkigal told the gatekeeper to let Ishtar enter, but "according to the ancient decree".
The gatekeeper let Ishtar into the underworld, opening one gate at a time. At each gate, Ishtar had to shed one article of clothing. When she finally passed the seventh gate, she was naked.
After Ishtar descended to the underworld, all sexual activity ceased on earth.
...and then, Ishtar, sprinkled with the Waters Of Life, reviving and passed back through the seven gates, getting one article of clothing back at each gate, and was fully clothed as she exited the last gate.

The "star of Ishtar" is a star design, often found alongside the crescent (for Sin) and the rayed solar disk (for Shamash) in Babylonian iconography (boundary stones, cylinder seals, etc.). The star of Ishtar is most often an eight-pointed star, but it could also have differing numbers of rays.

Like Ishtar, the Greek Aphrodite and the Aramean Northwestern Semitic Astarte were love goddesses. Donald A. Mackenzie, an early popularizer of mythology, draws a parallel between the love goddess Aphrodite and her "dying god" lover Adonis on one hand, and the love goddess Ishtar and her "dying god" lover Tammuz on the other. Some scholars have suggested that the myth of Adonis was derived in post-Homeric times by the Greeks indirectly from the Eastern Semites of Mesopotamia (Assyria and Babylon), via the Aramean and Canaanite Western Semites, the Semitic title "Adon", meaning "lord", having been mistaken for a proper name. This theory, however, cannot be accepted without qualifications.

Joseph Campbell, a more recent scholar of comparative mythology, equates Ishtar, Inanna, and Aphrodite, and he draws a parallel between the Egyptian goddess Isis who nurses Horus, and the Assyrian-Babylonian goddess Ishtar who nurses the god Tammuz.
