the sewer prays to the sea
because letting it out is the only thing i can do today that feels good.
beneath the notice of community
collects infection on the fly
implying, jointly with impunity,
immunity
this secret seeping stream of consciousness
the septic subtext of the dream
makes all the hubris of humanity
profanity
within the vaulted hollow monument
the bloated bowels of stone belie
the baals and demigods who never meant
the tainted tides to rise so high
and by the wayside leave their legacy,
the undigested rest, in peace,
the bright mirage to which beliefs belong
a siren song
there is no blame in the bacteria
i feel the flora and the fauna flow
but i’ve lost the love of this listeria
this is my chance to let it go
of sorrows drowned and damned deliver me
and river me
