confronting the restaurant critic
Hi,
Our family moved to Philly area about 4 years ago. Anyway I couldn't resist trying your ratings out as we're always looking for a nice new restaurant so we went to Sweet Mary's BBQ. It was the absolute finest meal we've had since we've been in this area so I want to thank you for that. mmm, we will return there many times I'm sure.
So then I'm listening the other night and we were thrilled to hear that you found one you liked even better, Fat Jacks, which is closer to where we live. Since you had become our new restaurant guru, we went there to eat within 2 days. But that was a disappointment. Chewy was a big understatement. It was waay inferior to Sweet Mary's in every way, just not in the same ballpark at all - I wondered if perhaps there was some kind of group hysteria at work which caused you to need to propel a lesser quality restaurant to the top. haha Giving that place a glory spot struck me as the equivalent of Big Daddy Graham and his love for Little Debbie cakes which are clearly the poorest excuse for dessert products ever on a grocery store shelf. I wondered if Big Daddy was in your entourage at Fat Jacks which may explain your lapse in judgement on those ribs.
