Lost 11 songs
Man, what a bummer. I had to re-install Windows 8 a little while ago and I lost all my wav files for 11 of my songs. I thought I had them backed up somewhere else but nope. Now all I have is 128 kb for those songs so I'll have to start the long recording process and get those babies back.

Lots of programs to get your data back sure some are free to try. If you did a format there still not gone. Usually its hard drive failure if not there is a good chance there still hidden away somewhere

Thanks Paul
I just found a USB Hard Drive I've had in another room so I'll check that tomorrow and see if they're on that one. I know about recovery and have used it but it's a pain and only the pay ones work the right way but thank you for that idea. If it was one song I might have done that but it's at least 11 and maybe more like 18.

Ok, feeling a little better. So far I've found six of them on another drive. Still looking and still have another drive to go.

Always redundify to level 2. Hearing this kinda stuff always makes me paranoid.
I think I'm ok, though. I have 4 physical disks on my machine, with redundancies, plus 3 multi-terabyte externals for safety. Hearing this kinda stuff though, makes me hanker for a new 5 TB external drive. To add to my 9TB already storage.

I hear ya Dan and I have no excuse because I know this stuff pretty well. Hey, what I don't get back, I'll re-do. :)
