Does anyone here use Medical Marijuana?
Just curious if any of you have a medical marijuana card?
I've had one for over 6 years now. We don't have a lot of compassion centers here in Rhode Island but I hear in California they have them on every street corner.
So do you have a card? If you don't want to answer this, I totally understand.

I don't, I believe it is not even possible here in Finland.
I haven't even tried "recreational", "leisure" or "entertainment" marijuana.

LOL!
It doesn't affect me like that though. Maybe when I was 16.
I like the buzz but it's not for everyone.
I only smoke through a vaporizer now and take oil drops at bedtime.

"I MOPE and I smoke some dope, you can have the last beer"
she said, quoting her own recent ALJ record.
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.
I reject categorically, any insinuation that greenery makes one spaced out,
it actually perks me up and zones me in like wildfire.
Also, I am part Finnish,
and am real sorry to hear it's so strict in Finland,
but then, if you never smoked it, you don't even miss it.
There's that.
Once, I had a puff,
of what someone said was 'medical marijuana',
WOW.
Now that's some good medicine.

All I smoke is MM.
I don't smoke with anyone else. I'm legal for a change and I want to keep it that way.

I'm not even sure it's available in England, though there is plenty of lobbying, but I could be wrong - there are legal substitutes I believe. Anyway it wouldn't be any use to me so I'll stick with aspirin :) When I first started to put mp3s out I would constantly be accused of being a druggie and I found that most upsetting - I like to think I can be creative and crazy naturally, if I took anything I'd probably completely flip.

Hi there
I don't really use it for pain. I use it mostly for nausea from Chronic Pancreatitis.
I also use it for other things in oil form.
Like I said, it's not for everyone.

Yes, I do! It is the most inexpensive drug I have as I grow my own legally here in California. I use it for neck pain (I have herniated disks) PTSD (I am a Vietnam Vet) and insomnia. It works perfectly for pain as I usually forget I am in pain when I vape some herb. It also calms me down when I start to get nervous and edgy from war images that constantly flash in my brain. It helps me to tune out and puts me in a more relaxed mode. Those images have a way of making me want to grab a gun and start shooting. That is one reason why I don't own a gun and don't allow them near me. I had several hundred confirmed kills in Nam. It is a statistic that haunts me even to this day. Without my weed I think I would be a very dangerous man. But because of it I am always mellow and happy. What more can you ask for? It cures what ails me and I get it free. Best medicine ever!
Much Respect,
Stoneman

Hey Stoneman
I made a new batch of oil with a different method this time which involved baking and at the end freezing the product overnight. Came out excellent!

Wow! sounds great Steve, Oil can be very strong sometimes but it is also very effective. A friend of mine uses it for his MS. He swears by it! Says that without it he cannot walk. For so many years he suffered through droves of drugs that had volumes of side affects. For him, the oil is the cure he sought from doctor after doctor and drug after drug. He walks well everyday now and can occasionally cut it up on the dance floor.

I'm not saying I've never "self medicated" with MJ, but unfortunately it's illegal here in Scotland, :( and as far as I know there are no moves to change that.

Does it make you hungry like regular pot? (what used to be called getting the "munchies")
Also: Does it make you sleepy or cause headaches?
I was in a car accident years ago and injured my neck and shoulder. Playing instruments a lot makes it worse. I don't want to take meds for pain that are addictive.
I'm considering medical marijuana but some folks say that solution has it's drawbacks too. Are there any negatives in using medicinal pot? It all sounds a little too good to be true.

For the life of me, I am trying to think of some negatives but I can't. Is it for everybody? Well, maybe not! But for a lot of people it is a better solution than the other pain drugs they hand out. There are so many side effects that come with those drugs and many of them are addictive. MJ may be habit forming but it is not addictive. Two days after I came home from the hospital from brain surgery I stopped taking the Vicoden they gave me for pain and just vaped twice a day. I made a Weed salve that I put on my surgical scars (22 staples) and it has healed so well. My neurosurgeon couldn't believe how quickly my scar had healed on my last visit. Bu no, I don't know of any negtives other than with edibles. Edibles can often be so strong that people freak out. This happened to me once and I have not done edibles ever since. That shit scared the hell out of me!

In the U.K M is getting stronger and stronger - too strong for me! I've not had any for years. What used to be a giggley, mellow, happiness became paranoia and a desire to go to bed! I'm told you can buy weaker stuff but i don't know how easy that'd be.

Stoneman ~ when you say "edibles" do you mean baked goods containing pot or pills that have THC in them?

It's different for everyone but most people I know do get the munchies. I got past that a long time ago. If you want to try it, I suggest somewhere you feel safe and only a few hits at first. Edibles are dangerous, not health wise but paranoia wise.
I've been smoking for a long time so I can pretty much smoke the strongest stuff out there without a problem. Don't smoke if you're already hungry!

Richard,
Yes, I am referring to baked goods, candies and other products that are ingested by eating them. The pills are different as the potency is better regulated. But I have known people who have freaked out after eating cake, cookies and/or candy that is THC based. Sometimes it is way too strong and it can cause some rather severe symptoms. I even had a bad experience once after eating some cake made with MJ butter. Oh man, it was absolutely scary! My wife held me in her arms for several hours that night. I have not eaten any MJ based products since then. Fpr me, It is too much like being on hardcore drugs. Probably never will again. Just like I will never take acid, heroin or cocaine again. All those crazy things I did in my youth are over. But MJ gives my aging a little bit more comfort. Especially in regards to pain management. It is a God send for sure. I would be in pain 24 hours a day if not for my weed vaping. Maybe not for everybody but it works perfectly for me.
Much Respect
Stoneman
