It's Here!!
New tune I spent a few months on called Switcheroo
Thanks to Paul Wainwright for his collab adding Sax, Piano, and Synth! Total professional!
This what I can do with some time off from my 9-5 job.
Enjoy!

One of the best instrumentals I’ve ever heard! Added to two of my stations. Rock on, Duane and Paul.

So great Duane! There are a million fabulous things in this tune, but I gotta say that your rhythm guitar is just inspirational.

Thanks Richard, Siesmo, Dolores, and everyone!
I'm learning a lot about placement and structure from Paul.
I like coming here because of the great and honest feedback. Switcheroo will probably be released in 2-3 weeks. So IMP will always get an exclusive!
Cheers!

Duane - please share what kind of axe you play and the kind of effects you use, especially on Switheroo. They are great! (They remind me of the guitar solos on Who’s That Lady by the Isley Brothers)

Thanks for asking Richard.
Switcheroo is actually a total revamp of an earlier song called “Just a Song” which also had lyrics too. I took the lyrics out, and added another section to "switch" back and forth for each lead to have a part.
I had always originally planned on it being a jazz/fusion tune. Then with adding Paul Wainwright’s sax I could finally have what I really intended.
The rhythm track was done on a Gretsch Streamliner (G2655t). Great for bright mid-range. I’m using this one a lot more lately.
Drums- Dr. Rhythm
Bass- Ibanez BTB 5-string
Lead Guitar is my custom made Carvin (Calif. carve-top). Kind of a cross between a PRS and a Les Paul.
You can see it on my IMP front page picture.
All of my instruments I run through a Boss GT-3 processor (1,000s of settings) then a simple Scarlett 2i-2 interface and a Cakewalk program for recording and mixing. The mastering I send through LandR.
I don’t know what Paul used for the piano and synth tracks, but I’m sure glad he knows how to play them!
I’m still a novice at mixing. I don’t use a lot of plug-ins cause my computer tends to crash. I’ve often thought about paying to have the tracks professionally done. I’m so anal about my music, they’d probably kick me out or charge me triple! Hahaha

Duane,
This rocks and it has that classic Paul build up that I wish I was better at. Nicely done.

Duane - here are guitar pedals that I use that you might dig: (all electro-harmonix products)
1) Big Muff Pi
2) Electric Mistress
3) Soul Food
4) Micro Pog
5) B9
I also love Boss products

I used to have a Big Muff many many years ago. I wish I still had it now! Such a Cool and unique sound.
I have a large array of pedals I've collected over the years that I don't really use anymore except my 60's Cry Baby.
The Boss GT-3 has soooo many pre-sets. Nothing beats it for playing Live.
I've got a new tune in the works that sounds dead on Craig Chaquico with that cool acoustic electric sound I could never get with my pedals. Should be done in a couple of months.
Peace,
Duane
