Bit of a waste of time in my experience. I had a premium account there for about a year and absolutely nothing happened. The only thing it's ever been any good for is bulking up the search engine count and even that is minimal.
Then again, in terms of material rewards I'm not exactly a shining example of a successful recording artist, so don't take my word for it. You might have a more positive experience than I did.
If you do go ahead with it and something happens, I'd be fascinated to know how you did it.
