yeah Sam....and ya know it's gettin weirder with the latest news about
Patrick Swayze being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In his movie
'Roadhouse', Jeff Healy and his band were in the movie playing a cover
of The Doors song; Roadhouse Blues. Guess none of us know how long
we've got, eh? Here is Jeff and his band doin a rippin cover of that same
song and as always, Jeff gives it everything and smokes up the fret-board.

Phenomenal - thanks for posting. I was fortunate enough to see Jeff and band live in the UK in the late 80s (around the time he broke through with See The Light, Roadhouse, etc), he was a real talent.

yeah Monkey68...glad to see that some other people can recognize and give Jeff Healy some credit due, other than just a quick r.i.p. comment. He was a true
music lover and even I haven't scratched the surface of how multi-talented he was.
He did some jazz stuff 2 which I haven't even heard...guess he played the horn (s)?
...so, yeah...I'm just learning more stuff about this talented guy that I never knew....
he sure could play the blues with a good feeling. Don't know if you've seen this one
with him playing along w/Stevie Ray Vaughan...on Stevie's song 'Look at Little Sister'

I hadn't seen Jeff and SRV together - although in about the same timeframe, I saw Jeff, SRV (on the In Step tour, his last before the helicopter crash) and Gary Moore (twice on the Still Got The Blues tour) - talk about a joyous few years of seeing my idols live!

Thanks so much,

V

And, I am going to say this once and only once... SRV didn't play the blues, the blues played SRV - for me, he is simply the greatest guitarist that ever lived.

Yeah Monkey68...my little brother thinks so too....I'll make sure an tell him your saying.
I'm sure he'll agree wholeheartedly. In the above performance...the Blues was 'Playin em both'!!!!! If I was there I woulda been screamin at the top o my lungs...the 'ol
Steve Marriott cheer:...'Git Down!' :D
