Is it Em - G on the vs?
its quite powerful at that tempo as is,
I was playing along string/fiddle/squeezebox in my head and heard space for phrasing,
natural crescendo to break leaves the breathe fire in my head, clever craft.
hope that helps

Thx Chris ... yeah ... Em - G ... the A - C - D back to Em - G ... then I go way out and go to Dm - Am back to Em etc. etc. ...
I started playing it slower ... but I kind of like this up tempo one ... just trying to get a feel of how people hear it ... thx for your input

Thanks Stoneman ... glad I seem to be on track ... 2 O.K's by my fellow music friends ...
I'll leave this up the rest of the day and pull it down tomorrow ... maybe get more opinions before I start recording ... it does have another verse ...
hoping to get Richard Scotti's (or others) take on where he (they) would go with song structure from here ... Stoneman ?

Unfortunately, I am no expert in regards to song structure for this genre. I only have two songs in my catalog that even come close. So I would suggest that some of the other artists who write similar styles would do better at giving you input for that. But I do like where it is going so far. I especially like the theme/lyrics which is extremely important for this genre.

Sam ~ I like the tempo as is. I think a simple production would work best, maybe just acoustic guitar, bass, a fiddle or harmonica doing connecting riffs and fills. Perhaps a tambourine for percussion would work to hold the song together. I don't really hear a drum kit on this track. This reminds me of the early acoustic Dylan songs where the the words, the emotions and the music were so strong that drums were not needed for emphasis.

Sam ---the tempo is fine
The lyrics are the story ---and are clear and concise--i reckon there may be one more verse to come?
Your guitar playing has leapt ahead--and i agree with Rich that a mouth harp or fiddle would add colour also, tambourine for percussion just on the main beat
