UROCIT-K (Potassium Citrate) Drink lot's of water too!
Once the stones are dissolved by the Urocit-K, then take 1 Allopurinal tablet once a day (for the rest of your life) to prevent further stone formation.
Both of these drugs are only effective if your stones are caused by high acidity in your urine. You must go to a doctor to find out what kind of stones you have.
Some stones are made of calcium and some are made of acid crystals. Testing your urine or testing a stone if you can pass one will let your doctor know which kind you have and he or she can prescribe the proper meds and diet.
Sometimes stones can be passed just by flushing them out by drinking tons of water but if you have a blockage and can't pass urine at all then you must see a doctor or go to the emergency room as soon as possible. You have to get x-rays to see if you have any stones in your kidney because sometimes they get stuck in the kidney and small pieces of the stones break off and go down the urethra where they either come out with lot's of water or get stuck. Even if you pass a stone or two and all the pain goes away, you can still have stones in your kidney without any pain but they need to be removed before they do further damage. In any case, good luck and run to the doctor.

Thx Richard ... Guess I'll go to the doc....yuk...
Yeah LD ... this will be my 4th go round with them ... I'm not pounding my head on the floor and crying like a baby yet ... but I know it's coming ... all the pre-stone tell-tale signs are there ... I hope it stays in my kidney long enough to get in to see a doc ... I've bot the sharp pointy ones that shine like glass and feel JUST like a broken bottle being drug through a man's innards ....

Sam ~Sounds like you have stones formed by excess acidity in the blood and urine.
This is actually good news because they are the ones that are treatable with Urocit - K and Allpurinol. You need an MRI to see the size and location of the stone.
I don't know if you have health insurance but if you don't, they have to treat you if you go to the emergency room.
