The Big River Bandits have just uploaded their latest jazz song, 'Elle Est L'Etoile'.

This is a sexy, beautiful song, well sung and well recorded. I love the acoustic guitar. What kind of mics were used on the guitar? Was it recorded in stereo? What brand of guitar? Inquiring minds want to know! This song could be a jazz classic. Great job!

Hi Richard,
thanks for your comment on our new song. We appreciate it, thanks for listening.
The guitar was plugged straight into the desk, the rhythm part was recorded in stereo while the solo was just on one track. I used my Takamine guitar which has just had a cooltube preamp fitted - I love it!

Takamines are great guitars. I use a Taylor for acoustic stuff but I'm thinking of trading it in for a Gibson Hummingbird. It seems to have a warmer sound than the Taylor especially for recording. I tried it in the store and fell in love, but you what they say: "the grass is always greener......"
